Yes, they recycle bits of tapestry which otherwise would be thrown away.

Hi, Jimmy! Nice to ''meet'' you again.

hello, nice to see you again! :::bows deeply:::  ^_^

ohhh i thought they used recycled items like plastic and whatnot, not actual tapestry threads/fibers. so basically, this is a true tapestry!

how gorgeous. my bf and i used to do painted tapestries, so this is quite interesting!

IG is a fun app. as an artist, it's appealing as it's basically image driven. you don't have to say so much with words to get your point across! :D

but M/M fic.... would still need LJ, i think.. so glad to hear you're still reading.  :-*

This would be a great present for a Brokie  ;-). I asked how much would it cost: shipping costs and insurance included it would be $790 for the USA.
I'm glad if you tell other people about this, they deserve recognition, also because they've chosen this subject.

They will send you a price list of their other works if you contact them through http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008332511422....

Here some photos published by a national newspaper for an exhibition:

oh, i zoomed in on the photo and i can see better how they constructed the piece! it's actually more like appliqué, i think... fascinating! i hope they find a buyer, it's gorgeous.

there is a set of cards called the enchanted tarot, and it's made up of bits of recycled fabric and lace and whatnot, it has this same sort of feel to it. beautiful deck.

They are good and already had some exhibitions. But I wonder how much are they are able to sell, especially with the actual climate in Italy.

I'm reading actual books now, I don't read anymore fics. But I started to read more again with BBM slash and I kept reading a lot since then. Even though I have a Kindle, I prefer the paper version of the books I really love. I've just ordered by a carpenter more shelves ;-).

more books shelves! that's always a good sign  :)

yes, good luck with the sales. the thing that's so great about the internet is that it can carry the art well outside the confines of one country. i hope the tapestry finds a good home!

How nice to see Antonella here on the forum again!
And I agree with Jimmy, the tapestry is gorgeous!
I hope it finds a good Brokie home.

And Jimmy, those T-shirts are really great! Some of them are very inventive.

Hollywood Legends 2017

Cowboy genre items included in the auction are from Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal’s wardrobe worn in the 2005 Oscar winning film Brokeback Mountain. These costume pieces are being offered for the first time and are accompanied by production photographs taken on set of the stars in the ensembles. ($4,000-$20,000).

Hi, John! (Speaking of legends... :) )

I've gone to some Hollywood related auction exhibitions before, they can be quite nice as the
items are often so varied at many of them, you'll find something to like at them! The last one
I went to had an automobile from Casablanca!  I doubt Jack's horse will be at this one, though!

I wish they hadn't put the Brokeback Mountain boys on the cover, now I am
wanting to buy a $100 auction catalog!

Just in case anyone wants to know, the exhibition for this auction is
Monday, April 24, 2017 – Friday, April 28, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily

You can also buy the catalog for $100 online and even participate
in the auction online.

A friend of mine threatened to buy this for me (not sure why; I never use tote bags) and when I said it was kitsch and camp, she said, "Yes but that's the whole point".

WTF?

That's all we've got. I hope you know that.

Just bought a copy of Gay Times (UK) dated January 2006, which has a feature on the 'just released' BBM movie.  It's always interesting to return to news coverage of this period and feel the real sense of anticipation and buzz about this movie.  Heath and Jake were such fledgling stars and that makes me feel both a bit happy and sad, for obvious reasons.  I already had other gay news magazines of the period - Attitude, Advocate etc - but am very glad to have this welcome addition to my BBM archive.
That's all we've got. I hope you know that.

Was searching for some BBM memorabilia tonight, and found this pin to put on a shirt or jacket.

The pose we know all so well, but.....Ennis is blowing a bubble?   I always seem to lose pins, so I ordered two.

:o
