Thank you for posting that.  If only the world really understood the depth in that story.  V.

cool post linda... i follow a young dancer online, and he's just out of HS, but he's gay and his little brother (also a dancer) is gay too. wow.. for some parents, that would be a double whammy... but i spoke with the mother briefly and thanked her for her total support of her two sons. she said she couldn't imagine not being loving to her children not matter what, so for her it wasn't such a big deal as the support comes easily. (she' also a dance mom too, so she's into it just as much as they are, LOL. it's a family affair!) the dad is supportive too. i know it must be difficult for some parents to accept their gay kids, but these two make it look easy.

it is amazing to think how accepting some parents can be, especially since so many gay kids have family that despises their sexuality. it's amazing how high you can fly with the right wind beneath your wings.

Best Motion Ad of the Year for 2016

UNDERSTANDING

okay, ya'll may have seen this already...
but it's a great commercial, i think.

KODAK ends 2016 with a ambitious motion ad called "Understanding" aimed at the millennial and older Internet market. The Washington Reader gives its 2016 award for "Best Motion Ad of the Year" to Kodak.

Eastman Kodak is the world's most famous film, processing and printer company that only recently emerged from bankruptcy. Now that the company is back in the clear Kodak apparently isn't wasting any time reestablishing its market presence with "Understanding" that was released on Dec. 19. Without question Kodak is back in the brand marketing game.

The two minute motion ad also carries the prominent tag line "A 35mm Film by Terry Rayment" that's a notable nod to the director — and the product being advertised.

"Understanding" is uniquely ambitious and brave. It's actually a somewhat serious short film more than an ad lasting just over two riveting minutes. It's about a gay teenage boy who's outed to his father by his little sister.

Yes, you read that correctly. Having caused you pause the inherently perplexing question is asked: What does that storyline have to do with selling movie film?

Actually the answer is "everything."

Yes, I had seen it, but very happy to rewatch. :) Nice and subtle.

Love that ad, Jimmy!

I am also glad "Kodak" has come out of it's problems. In my days Kodak was one of the iconic
brand names and always quality. Good for them!  (And they were based in Rochester, New York,
near where I went to college. (Or should I say, near where Fritz lived!)

yes, i heard about their financial woes... kodak seems as american as apple pie, somehow. i don't know what they did to save the company, but i hope they continue to thrive.

i forgot you went to college in rochester! you're a long way from there now, and you're probably happy -- omg, the snow they've been getting lately.

Not really, just visited the city. I've lived in New Orleans, South Bend IN and various places in the DC area, while being stationed at Ft Polk LA, Ft Bliss and Ft Sam Houston TX, and Ft Huachuca AZ.
