Heard a Tornado hit a Chicago suburb, Hope our Nellie wasn't in that one!  :-\
I don't have all the details on it yet Jonn, but I am also concerned about Nellie, really anyone in central Illinois today.  Those were some of the largest storms this spring.
Huge storms!, at one time one of the cells encompassed five counties out to the southwest of Chicago.

Took a little trip out to the Missouri River this evening (just 8 miles from home) and it is flooding in a few areas.
The level has remained high all spring, but is higher now than recent days.  Also noticed many crops are not yet
planted.   Just too much rain; it's been to wet to plant corn and soybeans.

AND.....our late news said we are under the gun tomorrow afternoon evening for more storms.

God, how I love You Tube!  Here is a clip from a storm chaser of the huge tornado that swept through Will county (south / southwest Chicago) and went on into Cook county (Chicago proper). Incredible.

She is most correct!  You have a wall cloud like that coming at you, you get underground!

Scary looking, Charlie. We didn't have any clouds like that with our storm last Tuesday, but the winds and rain were bad enough.

Yikes! Manhattan KS really got hit.

http://www.jameswsperman.com/2008/06/manhattan-hail-storm-6-2-2008.html

They sure did get hit....and many areas have here in the midwest this spring.  The next three photos are examples of some of the size these hail stones can achieve, and it can easily be seen the damage they would do when falling from the sky.  Only twice in my life have I seen any these size in real life.  The second time was two years ago, March 2006.

Rode the bicycle today on the rail trail (KATY) to Rocheport, MO, and took many photos.  The Missouri River crested in this area today at 8 ft above flood stage.  The first two photos are of the actual river, the third is what it looks like along the trail, in many cases a couple hundred feet back from the river.  Fourth is where the trail went underwater and had to turn back.  The last photo is a walkway that goes to an overlook of a wetland area, that is well, really wet right now!
