Well, Kansas and Iowa got hit by Tornadoes and strong Winds too, lives lost in both States, the Iowa Boy Scout camp being the worst with no warnings or decent cover, evidently..........sad........ :( :(....and summer doesn't necessarily signal the end of the Wild Storm season here, tornadoes don't always follow a seasonal calendar in this State........

Jonn, I heard there was significant damage on the west side of Manhattan (KS) last night from a large tornado.....an entire auto dealership was swept away.  Also heard there was damage to buildings on the KSU campus.  And yes, that is so tragic about those boy scouts in Iowa.  From what I know about some of the described injuries, I would suspect there will be additional loss of life from that storm.

Yep, tornado watch here until 10pm for now.  Probably will get extended if things get active.  Either way, we are in for more rain here.  The river levels have been slowly coming up, really since the first of May.  With additional rain, they will remain at the same levels until the rains stop for a couple weeks.

Took a little trip today over to the eastern side of the state to see the raging Mississippi River.  Every major news organization in the country was there with up links...helicopters flying about....a real media frenzy.  The following 15 photos show the flooding in Clarksville, Missouri and the sandbagging efforts to save the downtown business district.
