i am sorry if it roubles you ellen, but i believe if you take into account the context, it makes perfect sense to use his full name.  i even wrote out fully his title and united states.

hussein is an honorable name, and you had better get used to it, as their will certainly be a lot of baby husseins growing up near you soon.

would hillary rodham clinton or william jefferson clinton be equally troubling?

the statement is true, but it doesn't contradict obama.  he can halt further investigatons, but he cannot remove or rescind dadt.  clinton signed that right away.

Yes, I understand he can't undo DADT.  But that he COULD BUT WON'T issue an order that would allow people like Choi to remain in the Army, just deflates my enthusiasm for him even more (his apparent lack of concern about whether or not Bush and pals should be subjected to the rule of law has already caused my ambivalence towards him to grow daily).
...somehow, as a coat hanger is straightened to open a locked car and then bent again to its original shape, they torqued things almost to where they had been, for what they'd said was no news.  Nothing ended, nothing begun, nothing resolved...

During the campaign, people used Obama's middle name to infer
certain things.  That seems to be the context in which his middle
name appears.  It is usually invoked to stir up these images or
just to invite negativity.  Like a tone of voice.  Or a mother getting
a misbehaving child's attention--Listen to me William Jefferson
Clinton.
Anyone's middle name is usually used to get attention
of some kind.  Obama's is usually used to bring about some
negative energies.  Just my point of view.  Plus, I seriously disagree
with your assertion that people are going to start naming their children
Hussein.  When "Roots" was on there were numerous stories on tv
that people were naming their children Kunte and Kizzy and even Rooster!
Well, those people would be 32 years old now and I have never heard of
anyone named Kunte or Kizzy or Rooster.

Obama sets off debate with unAmerican choice of mustard
 :D

That article really IS informative:

(By the way, I think--in this first sentence, in context of the rest
of the article, the question was meant to say "What kind of man
eats mustard on a burger", not ketchup.)

Quote
Several reasoned answers to the question, “What kind of man
eats ketchup on a burger?” come from another source: David Frum
blogging at NewMajority.com, the site that is “building conservatism
so it can win again.”

“First answer: Texans.
Texans traditionally eat hamburgers with mustard or with mayonnaise
(or with both), but without ketchup. This is simply called a ‘hamburger’
in Texas, but is sometimes called a ‘Cowboy Burger’ or a ‘Texas Burger’
outside of Texas.  A hamburger with ketchup is sometimes called a
‘Yankee Burger.’ A hamburger with mayonnaise is sometimes called
a ‘Sissy Burger’ …

Second answer: Republicans. A 2000 survey of members of Congress
by the National Hot Dog Council found that 73% of Republican law
makers preferred mustard to ketchup, as opposed to 47% of Democratic
lawmakers.

Final answer: traditionalists. Louis’ Lunch in New Haven, Conn., the
restaurant widely believed to have served the first hamburgers ever
made in the United States, absolutely forbids ketchup.”

Have you ever heard of these things Linda or Ellen (former and current
Texans)?  Cowboy Burgers!  Why would a hamburger with mayonaisse
be called a Sissy Burger?  All sorts of things come to mind.

And also amusing:
Quote
They [Republicans] feel if they keep chipping away at President
Obama with nonsensical complaints, it will slowly erode his popularity.
The problem they face is that they look like loons doing it, and all the polls
point to the same conclusion. It’s good for ratings on Fox, because those
uber-loons are watching the little horde of Republican lunatics in action
with a fervent glee, but mainstream America is laughing at them.”

Uber-loons  -- lol!

Well, there's this "Rooster", but I heard that he wouldn't like Brokeback Mountain.

I thought that was Marion.

His father was a drug dealer (pharmacist).

We could get married now in the state he was born in:  Iowa!

I am not moving to Iowa, even for Lyle.

Connecticut, maybe, but it would take an awfully big engagement ring to sway me.

Honestly I have never known a single soul who has ate mayo on a burger.  But hey I am Canadian! lol   I am with the President, if you are gonna have mustard, kick it up a notch and break out the Grey Poupon.

Oh and I did know a Chihuahu called Kizzy and she was named after Kizzy on ROOTS, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

i think you got my intent just right.  it was meant to scold.

on the other hand, i hardly think there is a comparison between kunte kinte and hussein, which is already a regularly occurring if not exactly common name in the usa thanks to our multicultural society.

I'm neither Republican nor Texan (although I was stationed at Ft. Sam for while,) and I like both ketsup and mustard on my burgers BUT if I choose to use only one, it is mustard. I HATE burgers with sauces (like Whoppers and Big Macs) and those are usually mayonaise based.

And I know two Kizzy-s... one 65 years old and from Cincinnati Ohio and the other in her 20s or 30s and from southern California. I also know a couple Husseins from my Ringling days... but they may have been deported by now.
In 2010, 606 people (all ages) were accidentally killed by guns.
Almost 3000 teens (15-19) die in traffic accidents a year.
1100 kids under 19 drown each year.
44 kids under 5 died of heat stroke in hot cars in 2013.
HIGH school sports account for 1.2 million trips to the ER annually.
