As sun light shines
on my closed eyes
I'm awaken by my heart's cry
and another dream had ended

I rise to start another day
Another day without you
Another day of missing you
Another day wondering where you are

Before it is seen
I put on my mask
to hide my loneliness
and never disclosing my pain

I go through the day living a lie
Pretending everything is fine
Fighting back the tears
and stifling my cries

I wait for the sun to end it's shine
and for the moon to show it's side
The time of my peace is here
The sweet solitude of sleep is near....

Auntie's words of wisdom open 24/7
Nick's inspiring pictures and warm embraces
Jackie's loving thoughts and support
Conny's goodness in heart ,brings the best out of
Chuck,his laughter roars and allows
Brad to forget the worlds troubles

Faith and be Glory to all
Michaelflanagan brings to this diner,as
Lance rolls his eye and fills this place with shiny smiles
Heidi keeps us on our toes as she comments as
Tigs peeks in and whispers joy and giggles

beneath the sink

I was in love again.
from a distance I loved him
while up close I closed.
we talked around
and had moments alone
but never together.
I think he knew,
but I never knew.
Word was he was lonely.
And so was I.
But admiration's shadow darkened my light
and I doubted he cared.

I wanted him
more than I wanted

I was afraid

I stood outside after a long walk to his door
though he only lived down the road.
I wanted to knock
to be friendly or kind
or tell him my heart beat to his heartbeat
and sang to his song

but I left alone and dreamed of his head on a pillow white cloud, sleeping alone

In the morning I heard

While I had waited to knock
While I had waited for courage
to tell him the truth

He had crawled into a ball like a fetus at birth
inside of the cabinet
beneath the sink
alone and died

NewArtz, "Beneath the Sink" is the kind of poem that distinguishes the professional from the novice.  You have the talent to offer twists and turns leading up to a "punch in the stomach" ending.  "Beneath the Sink" is a powerhouse!
