Thanks Suely.
She is working towards it.

No problem, Jess. I knew you were on holiday.
She is back home now, and very tired. I hope she abides by the doctors orders and gets some help for her husband.
They are in the process of determining whether she is going to need a pacemaker or not.

I do hope they get the help they need.
After weeks of dealing with social workers and medical staff for mother in law, I know first hand how exhausting and stressful all this can be.

Not really a "vicissitude"....but something that really irks me.

I don't know how familiar other countries are with our "Remembrance Day Poppies" that are sold each year. You pay 50p or £1 to buy a poppy that has been made by "old soldiers" and other people who support the Armed Forces.Discard it after "Remeberance Day".....and repeat it all again next year....and so on. Dating back from the First Word War to the poor guys who need help now from the Afghan War and so many others. All the money collected goes to the Charities who help these people.
What I have noticed.....more so this year .....lots of Jewellers and Department Stores are selling poppy brooches. Lovely as they are......THIS IS NOT THE IDEA !
You give just a tiny amount each year.....for those who have given so much. Not dig out the "poppy brooch" from your jewellery case to wear year after year.

Thats it....I really needed to say that  :)

i have been vividly warned that this topic has been inactive for a long time.  i know that, but have realized it is past time for me to rejoin the brokieverse.  :">  and what better place to do it than this thread, with which i have an intimate connection.  i might show my face in some other threads, but i suspect they will have moved on without me.  ???

i have a heckuva post coming up in a while, but no sooner than i started this than my body functions started acting up causing me to have to stop and come back after its needs have been tended to.  the body -- our best friend when we are young nd our worst enemy when we grow older.

JACK !! You're back  :)

Your posts...no matter what you have to say or tell....have been missed.
Don't stay away so long next time.

I agree....growing old is no fun....but we are here and alive and kicking !

In the midst of my "busy season" at work, and I'm really getting  fed up!   I'm glad  it will be over soon!
