I'm beginning to think he's got some wish to sabotage his career.
I have to say I wasn't that keen on
all of his choices in recent years. Had some serious doubts on 'Nightcrawler', 'Southpaw' and 'Okja' - and a couple of others as well.
I don't know. Most of the time Jake's performance is good or great, but the films itself seem too... I can't think of the right word. Not special enough, I guess. I often think Jake is too good for the movies he's in - yes, that's it.
The storyline of 'Stronger'
was special, but the film felt a bit dishevelled unfortunately. Same for 'Everest'. 'Velvet Buzzsaw' surprised me in a good way, though!
I guite liked that one, even though it's not high art, of course.
I think the problem is that we've seen it all before. There are so few really unigue stories, it seems. Jake has yet to find a new once-in-a-lifetime role. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.
