Well, it seems that mom and dad may not need to take Blaze to the vet anymore for grooming.

Mom decided to "introduce"  Blaze to the hair clippers.  She held them out, he sniffed it, rubbed up against it.  She turned it on, he still brushed against it, she put treats in his bowl, while he ate she clipped him.

Alice was in such a hurry for her dash of milk at breakfast that I ended up pouring it on her ear.

The cats are a great support at the moment. Well, when they feel like it, anyway....

Chuck -- good luck with that! Maybe it is the car trip Blaze dislikes rather than the grooming.

Cally -- yeah, it's a nice assortment NOW, but they're all going to look pretty much alike in a few months. Their colors change so much!

I'm going to say 'no' to that, only because I've see the way he growls and hisses at the vet.

Doesn't that involve a car ride? Haven't you said Blaze gets tracked down and put in a crate for these trips? And then he gets where he's going and some stranger wants to put his hands on him?

CC and  Buddy both hate getting groomed...Buddy especially hates getting his toenails cut.  They look so pathetic when I leave them.....like I'm never coming back and they'll be all alone and don't I love them any more?  I don't know how women can stand to leave their kids at day care every day, if they cry....

Kids... and your dogs... stop crying as soon as you're out of sight.
When I go out the front door, every dog in the house starts howling. Usually I haven't even shut the car door before it's over.

Yes she is, Sara. She does very well for a 4 lb dog. Takes advantage of her little cuteness. :D

Tootsie loves going for rides and does well at the groomer and vet. No separation anxiety for her at either place.
I am lucky she is so calm happy considering the abuse she suffered before Rick rescued her.
She knows no strangers which can have it's drawbacks. I have to keep a very close eye on her.

Some of my dogs like to go and will try to beat me out the door and to the car. Others put themselves in their crates as soon as I pick up the car keys... if I want them to go, I have to hog-tie and drag them.
Much like people!

I can't speak for dogs, but my mom used to watch kids from our home years ago.....with new kids, the tears would start as soon as they were dropped off, and the parents felt horrible.  Within 3 minutes, they had stopped crying and were playing with the other kids there.

Blaze appears not to like being left alone for too long, which is not "stereotypical" for cats, who are always described as loners.   If he gets left alone for some time, as soon as someone gets home, he goes running to them and starts brushing against them and purring.  He'll even let you pick him up at that point.  LOL
