I wouldn't throw stones from your glass house so easily.
sorry lyle, i wasn't throwing stones, i was explaining how a portion of her greater audience, myself included, took umbrage, since to some it was incomprehensible.  i shared a viewpoint, end of story.  i won't be boycotting her films or writing letters to the editor, or to her studio.

my life is my life, as is my opinion, and i am as entitled to my opinion as the next man.  after long and diligent effort, if battle seems overwrought, to procure the full measure of citizen ship and latterly make the world safer for the young who have prematurely tried to take advantage of the tide of change, i have earned the right to hold an opinion above and beyond it being my birthright.

(not repeating myself was my effort at not throwing stones, but damn i should have been a fire and brimstone preacher in the olden days)

actually, that would tend to explain a lot, although the kids look nothing like him.  mel gibson was not always a loon, and i don't think he was always a bigot either.  he may well be suffering from some form of late onset mental illness.  to look at the lost creature he has become as a relatively young man, and look again at his earlier life and works, the greatest sadness is not who he is now, but how he has fallen...

Agree with this one hundred percent.

i think i may forgive you for all our misgivings just for saying BATED breath instead of baited, which sends me screaming from a computer screen...

 :)

delighted to hear this! i had thought the show was a good bet to be cancelled, and i found it compelling.  terrific writing, and well acted.

Me too. I thought at one time it WAS cancelled. Reruns of the first season have been playing on several non-FOX stations.

Even the sound byte that I heard/saw seemed, at best, rambling and disorganized, and in that sense not what I expected from Jodie Foster, but let be, let be. ...

I'm with you there, Jeff. Seemed kind of strange, like she was undecided which way to jump.

The Taste starts tonight. A "top chef" competition judged on one bite. Talk about limiting portion size! Must be filmed in NYC.

Well so far so good.  Besides, it stars Nigela Lawson!  That woman could turn me around, I tells ya.  And I'm already in love with Ludo Lefebvre, natch.

Yeah, I could see you and Ludo. The matching attitudes boggles my mind!

I love these cooking competitions especially as I have NO idea what any of them... cooks and judges... are talking about. The ingredients alone are so much Greek to me and I don't think any of the spoons have had anything Greek in them! So far, they like, like, like but don't choose. For myself, I'm interested ONLY in taste. I coulod care less what creates that.

So did they all pick four people?  I was multitasking...

Did I mention that I'm in love with Ludo Lefebvre?

My secret shame: THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER.  I love that show!

How hot is Luke Barnatt?  I have such a thing for big ears, I don't know why but I just do. Plus he seems like he's a ginger.  Bonus!!

I will comment, Oilgun, only because I am here, but not interested in the shows.

The first picture of Ludo is better.

Not so much on Luke.
