Great new thread, let me provide some pics!

There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?

There are some shots in the movie that are really terrifying!

Maybe we should include a 'PG' rating for this thread? Or 'R'?  ;D

Just a few more thoughts after reading the comments on the "serious" thread and having had a week to think about the film and the reactions to it and about it. Firstly I'm glad I saw it. Ever since BBM I've been waiting for Jake to get another role where he could show how awesomely talented he is and this is it. All I can think is "thank goodness, at last!" It's been a long and frustrating wait, even though I've enjoyed everything Jake's done in the last ten years.

I think, on reflection, that the way we feel about Jake after he gave us Jack Twist could be a problem in approaching this film with enough objectivity to feel comfortable watching it. In a way I had to put Jack aside in order to let Lou Bloom in and that was hard. Only then was it possible to completely appreciate what I was seeing without baggage. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else.

Another factor which made me go to see Nightcrawler is that I feel that I owe Jake support. He gave me something incredibly precious in BBM. His bravery in doing that role so totally convincingly, along with Heath earned my respect and affection for ever. So when he takes risks in his work, maybe tackles something challenging to watch, I'll always go and see it even though I have misgivings. After all I wouldn't hesitate to go and see Macbeth or The Bacchae or any other great but disturbing drama.

I might even go and see Nightcrawler again, just to pick up on all the nuances I bet I missed the first time round.

Oh, wow, that's quite an appreciation!

That's an excellent attitude.

Makes me think twice.
