I thought Sarah Ferguson must have been in Sydney, where I have been this week and had not seen anything on the news. However I see it was a few weeks ago now.

I feel sorry for Charles. He has (thankfully for us) had to wait so long. I believe he was pressured into marrying Diana (mainly by Earl Mountbatten) as being good for the monarchy.  And Diana was naturally dazzled. It was not a match made in heaven. In older times (even as recent as Edward VII) monarchs married for dynastic reasons and had mistresses. Their Queens just lived with it. However life is different today especially since the abdication of Edward VIII. The Queen idolised Philip and William and Kate seem to be a genuine love match.

I agree, I feel for Charles too, but I wonder these days.......does he even want to be King anymore??

Former Army officer Prince Harry paid his respects to fallen Australian and New Zealand veterans during a dawn service to mark Anzac Day in the U.K. on Monday.

The prince, who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, wore his military medals and his Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order star over his necktie as he placed a wreath of red poppies at the memorial at Hyde Park Corner, London.

I agree with ALL of this.I also think Charles has given up the ghost of ever being King !

Sometimes when I read about  William and Kate....how they say how important their "family life and privacy" is to them. How they want their children to have an ordinary childhood and life....I get a feeling that William and Kate are really not looking forward to having all the responsibilities of monarchy thrust upon them. I may be wrong...but then again.............  :-\

I don't think you are wrong, I mean it has his perks, no one would say different, but would I want it, no I am not sure I would, having said that..

THEY'RE WINOS

When in New Zealand! Just like Prince William and Princess Kate before them, Charles and Camilla sampled some of the local wines in Nelson, New Zealand.

Tis a dirty job, but someone has to do it!

Why is this thread all about the British Royals? We in The Netherlands have a Royal Family too.

And today (April 27th) is a special day. It's King Willem-Alexander's birthday - and so we celebrate Koningsdag (King's Day), which is all about having fun and all kinds of festivities, like music festivals, markets etc.

And since our Royal Family descents from The House of Orange, we're all dressed in orange as well  ::)

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters:

Chaos is order yet undeciphered.
