Regardless, it seems to me that in order to be The First Lady, one must first be a lady.

Well, since you said that, Lyle, I'll stick my neck out and say, That's what I was thinking. I think there used to be a word for women who posed for photos like that, and lady it wasn't.

Well you know if we are going to put the women "in the news" let's not forget the men. Was just reading about Clinton's affairs when he was Governor and then there is this:

Then once he was in the White House, his promiscuousness didn't stop. There she was, Monica Lewinsky, a young good looking 21-year-old intern. She performed oral sex on Clinton in the oval office. She had a dress with a Clinton sperm stain on it. And Clinton took a cigar tube and inserted it into Lewinsky's vagina.

Once the news broke, Clinton adamantly denied any sexual activity with Lewinsky, later rebutting his story and admitting that it did in fact happen.

That ain't no gentleman!   But a good President by all accounts.

That's for sure!

I never heard about the cigar tube before. ... Ick. ...

Not, WE Bubba, it's YOU.  You are the only one who posts about Trump's family. I don't think anyone else
has brought them up but you, and then people comment on it.

If those things were a big knock against Bill Clinton, which is certainly true, and the Republicans dragged the
country through impeachment proceedings because of it, and thought it was the worst thing on earth
that could happen...why were they okay with Donald Trump's pussy grabbing, sexual assaults, and his, as I've
mentioned before, wife being born in another country and soft core porn and illegal immigrant status?  It's the
hypocrisy that's maddening.

By the way, there was so much made up things about the Clinton's during the campaign, what is the source
of your statement: "Was just reading about Clinton's affairs when he was Governor."

Also, any time someone makes a point about something why do you feel the need to counter it to balance it out
with an opposing statement, as though that makes it fair or something. Neither Bill Clinton's oval office affair, which
was consensual by the way, or Trump's treatment of women and bragging about assaulting them (and everything else
about him) is a good thing.

Bringing up Bill Clinton and what you've read about him, does not mean that any of the things we have posted about Melania
are any less valid just because you want to bring up a tit for tat with someone else.  You are doing precisely what Melania's
husband does. Someone points out a fact, he distracts with something else to avoid the truth.

Why don't you bring up your own Prime Minister's current problems, like his approving pipelines from the Alberta oil sands,
his family vacation in the Bahamas and the ethics investigation?

Yup.

I'm not sure why, but this reminds me of thoughts I had listening to President Obama's farewell speech. I had thoughts that a lot of what he was saying about politics and democracy was just a waste of wind, because the Republican idea of compromise is The other side gives in and they get their way. There is no working with people like that. And why should they compromise? They've got the White House and the majorities in the House and the Senate.

I read this today and agree. It was in response to an article, which the last paragraph stated:

Since the election, the media and many Democratic politicians have wrung their hands over their failure to pay attention to the legitimate anger in the Trump-tilting parts of the country. And good for them.

But it’s time to remember that there are about 66 million Clinton voters who have a right to be angry, too.

The response:

Thank you for that last line, Gail. I'm one of those 66 million who are angry, and tired of hearing how Democrats need to start paying more attention to the white working class. In fact, it's exactly the opposite. That white working class (in which I was raised) needs to start paying attention to what the Democratic Party has been trying to do for them for eighty years. Do the words Social Security, Medicare, and minimum wage ring a bell? Instead, that white working class has been falling for the lies being peddled for the last thirty years by a Republican Party that has zero interest in helping them. Trump is the logical conclusion to this long campaign to get the working class fighting amongst itself--white against black, straight against gay, Christian against Muslim--so they don't notice the guys at the top are robbing them blind. And now we're supposed take responsibility for THEIR inability to recognize who is actually on their side, and their refusal to stop voting against their own interests? Please. You're damn right we're angry. They've done this to themselves. And now we ALL have to pay.

All I can think of is "classless" and whoever "THEY" are to equate her with Jackie Kennedy don't have a clue as to what "THEY" are talking about.

And these aren't even the raunchy ones.

I am the only one bringing up Trumps family?   What do you call this Lyle and the posts after it..   I am simply saying why attack his wife - what has she done?  Calling her "melanoma".

She went to University - she modeled for fashion houses in Milan and Paris, she speaks six languages: Serbo-Croatian, English, French, Italian, German, and her native Slovene.

She appears to be a devoted wife and Mother!

And if you think it is okay for the President of the United States to have oral sex performed on him in the oval office, I am not sure what to tell ya..

Let me know when Trump acts like that once he becomes the President!

And for the 100th time I post other news stories, did yesterday, no one comments, they only want to talk about Trump, well should say complain about Trump..

As for Justin he went on a holiday with an old family friend, to his friends private island, last I checked that was not a crime and really no ones business!

P.S.

Applying as a model of "extraordinary ability", Melania obtained a green card and became a lawful permanent resident in 2001, and citizen in 2006.

Sorry, Lyle, but I have been thinking that's a bit much.

Wait till she does something really stupid, like buy an obscenely expensive set of new china for the White House.  ;)

But I also don't think anybody said it's OK for the POTUS to get a blow job in the Oval Office.

I won’t miss listening to Joe Biden: too much schmaltz was for me. But he’s a good man, and that Medal of Freedom presentation was beautiful

Was just coming in to post that Dave..

Biden Surprised with Medal of Freedom as He Shares How Obama Saw Him Through Darkest Moments of His Son’s Illness

President Barack Obama paid tribute to Joe Biden in a surprise ceremony at the White House on Thursday, where he awarded the vice president the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

A tearful Biden was overcome with emotion as Obama placed the medal around his neck and the two leaders embraced.

And Michelle was serenaded by Stevie Wonder no less..

Watch Stevie Wonder's Glowing Tribute to Michelle Obama on 'Fallon'

Stevie Wonder appeared on The Tonight Show on Tuesday to celebrate Michelle Obama's time as First Lady. He dug up two standards from his back catalog – "Isn't She Lovely" and "My Cherie Amour" – and modified the lyrics of the second tune in Mrs. Obama's honor, declaring "You'll always be First Lady in our lives."

I figure she'll redecorate it like the Trump Tower. Or the Taj Mahal.  ;)

I guess, Linda, they weren't comparing Melania to her as someone with class, grace and dignity, but
someone preferring to stay behind the scenes and support her paycheck husband, as First Ladies
were more required to do in the past.

Regardless, it seems to me that in order to be The First Lady, one must first be a lady.

Absolutely, Lyle. And she is anything but.

Thing is Lyle is better than that... there are a few people here who are just plain mean/miserable, Lyle has never struck me that way.

..She would certainly break the mold, being the first third wife to occupy the White House, the first non-native speaker of English, and the first fluent in five languages – Slovenian, German, French, Serbian and English.

Contrary to popular belief she would not be the first foreign born – that was Louisa Adams, the English wife of sixth president John Quincy, who served from 1825 to 1829.

Nor would she be the first model – both Betty Ford and Pat Nixon worked as models, with Mrs Nixon using those skills to become the first first lady to appear publicly in trousers, and model them for a national magazine...
