Congress and senate seats are up for grabs in the mid-terms, the dems will try to take over but with reps afraid of 45, they may retain control.
I had to look this up...
Major cities which are holding mayoral elections in 2018 include:
Newark, New Jersey: Incumbent mayor Ras J. Baraka was re-elected to a second term with 77.05% of the vote.
Phoenix, Arizona: Thelda Williams is the incumbent and acting mayor after Greg Stanton chose to resign on May 29, 2018, to seek election for the United States Congress.
San Francisco, California (special): London Breed was elected to succeed the deceased mayor Ed Lee.
Washington, D.C.: Incumbent Muriel Bowser (D) is running for reelection.
Nashville, Tennessee: Acting Mayor David Briley won election with 54.47%, avoiding a runoff.
Louisville, Kentucky
and there are some gubernatorial elections in some states, but not sure which ones...
We are having a gubernatorial election in New Mexico this year. I am hoping that a democrat will be elected after 8 years of a female republican. Susana Martinez supported Pumkinhead until he dissed her at the governors meeting after he was elected. Did she really think he would support her, being a woman and Hispanic?
The woman who just won the Democratic primary here is Michelle Lujan Grisham, (who is a 12th generation New Mexican) who is the representative of the 1st District in NM, which includes several counties, including Albuquerque. She is the hope of getting a Democrat in the Governor's office.
Debra Haaland won the Democratic primary for the 1st district in NM. She is a full blooded American Indian, and if she wins, would be the first American Indian to serve as a Representative in DC.
