Thanks Debbie, I did enjoy the lunch and company! And I’d have felt a lot worse if I hadn’t killed the sweet little mouse.
There were only the two of them on the mountain flying in the euphoric, bitter air, looking down on the hawk's back and the crawling lights of vehicles on the plain below, suspended above ordinary affairs....

Hey Sara!

Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim’rous beastie,
O, what a panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
          Wi’ bickerin brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee
          Wi’ murd’ring pattle!

I’m truly sorry Man’s dominion
Has broken Nature’s social union,
An’ justifies that ill opinion,
          Which makes thee startle,
At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
          An’ fellow-mortal!

I doubt na, whyles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen-icker in a thrave
          ’S a sma’ request:
I’ll get a blessin wi’ the lave,
          An’ never miss ’t!

Thy wee-bit housie, too, in ruin!
It’s silly wa’s the win’s are strewin!
An’ naething, now, to big a new ane,
          O’ foggage green!
An’ bleak December’s winds ensuin,
          Baith snell an’ keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an’ waste,
An’ weary Winter comin fast,
An’ cozie here, beneath the blast,
          Thou thought to dwell,
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
          Out thro’ thy cell.

That wee-bit heap o’ leaves an’ stibble
Has cost thee monie a weary nibble!
Now thou’s turn’d out, for a’ thy trouble,
          But house or hald,
To thole the Winter’s sleety dribble,
          An’ cranreuch cauld!

But Mousie, thou art no thy-lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men
          Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
          For promis’d joy!

Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But Och! I backward cast my e’e,
          On prospects drear!
An’ forward tho’ I canna see,
          I guess an’ fear!

Werd ich zum Augenblicke sagen, "Verweile doch! Du bist so schön..."

I did it! Deutschlandfunk Kultur says Guten Morgen with this picture today, and I love them for that!

Nice! And well done. :)

Today I went HEALTHY for breakfast.....well, I always start out that way!! Fruit and Yogurt, my favs for early breakfast, but then a little later I'll make some bacon and hash browns, or maybe some scrambled eggs......but I decided since some of my blood count numbers were climbing a little, I'll try to stay healthy for breakfast, every other day!! LOL...sounds like a plan to me......l LOVE egg salad or tuna salad sandwiches, which I THINK are fairly healthy, right? So, I'm having one of those for a light lunch.......I stay away from Fast Food places, and TRY to only have French fries once in a while...although I crave them all the time!! hahaha.........love me some steamed veggies too......ok, nuff FOOD TALK for a while here......

Good morning, Jonn!

Yay for your sun!  I know you were wanting rain when it was so dry, but that forecast sounds like too much all at once.

I suppose that's true, you would have been thinking about him, back home suffering......  :'(

Really? I would love to listen to it, if you don't mind?

Don't know if it exists as a podcast - but there's another Dt.ld.funk interview with me about Joan Baez, which should still be available.

Nope. Nice and healthy. And I like the taste, expecially with Worcestershire sauce flavored Chex Mix to add a snap to it.

 ;)

However, they are VERY high in cholesterol.
So be warned.

Well, we have them once a year or even less.
