How strange.

This thread has always been about our own stories of weight loss and our struggles with it, and now I come here and find it hijacked by "celebs" ???   Very puzzling.

From Bobby's first post in the thread:

I'd like to start a thread here where those of us who want to cast off those extra pounds can talk about how we're doing it.

 [.....]

What do you say?  Can we swap stories about how we're doing it, and encourage others to do the same?

From Bobby's first post in the thread:

Well, you're correct.....that's how it started out.  But people seemed to stop posting, so perhaps the posts about celebs were meant to inspire?

I know that in the past, I used other people's success stories as inspiration, and I should get back to that, I've gotten so far off track that I can't even see the tracks anymore.

Unfortunately I'm way off track too  :-\

And I could sure do with some inspiration from real people. People who come here and talk about their own struggle, and with whom I can exchange expeirences.

"Celebs" don't serve that purpose, not on your fucking life. If people want to post articles about so called "celebs", I think they should start a new thread to do that.

If anyone is interested, they can go there and read it.

WOW I won't be posting anything in here anymore.  Happy dieting everyone, you too Bobby where ever you are!

Hi! All:

I was wondering if there is anyone still here who is wanting to use this topic to help lose weight and get their life under control? It worked for me once to the tune of 76 lbs if I remember right. I'll go over to the Diner and see if there is anyone there who still remembers me.

Maybe we need a 'new' Lovesick Diet thread?

Hi Bobby!

I don't think we really 'know' each other, but I do know who you are! I know I need to lose weight, and I sort of know how to do it, but it just never seems the right moment to start. :)

I used to be here a lot...and started this thread a looong time ago. I was thinking of joining Weight Watchers but then didn't want to spend any money there. So, my default was to check in here.

I am over 250 again and at the age of 70 it is really hard to get in the dieting groove. They talk about a new way of eating and all that shit, but you and I know it is calories in and calories out, and our cravings are all over the map!

So...what would you like to do? I'm all in for whatever. What if we went back over this thread and thought about some of the things we all did when we first started it? I don't know...just grasping at straws.

I use Lose It! an ap for my phone. I put in the calories for breakfast and it totalled 696! Fuck! I had no idea my smoothing was the thing that was killing me!

Your first name?

I'm Sara! Trouble is, I'm just not ready to get started on it. I know I'm comfort eating, and I have quite a few visits coming up when I know I'll want to enjoy my food. I only need to lose about 18 pounds, and did it successfully on W Watchers a few years ago, but but but.... I'm 74, but not sure that's an excuse really!

So I just don't think I'm going to be much support to you at the moment, Bobby. Sorry. :)

If you are on the Forum and respond now and then to my posts, that is all the support I need. BTW, my grandpa Parker came from England. He was born in 1863 I believe, had a family there, and for some reason decided to come to America. He then had a new wife and 10 kids here.

So we have something in common to start with!

Lose It! is free and helps keep track of calories. Let me know if you like it.

I completely understand that you are not ready yet. It's the hardest thing in life to do!

My name is Sue.....and I need to lose some weight.
My worst times are late at night. I have problems sleeping.
I either come here on line.....or sit reading with a mug of hot chocolate
and a handdul of biscuits/cookies.
Need help.....fast.
