JANICE JOPLIN?? this is going to be interesting.

oh wow. janice died at 27, smoked, and had tattoos.

she had a very unique, personal clothing aesthetic too.

oh lordy.

Matilda is growing up so fast.  I think that Michelle Williams would make for an interesting Janis Joplin.  I remember watching some episodes of "Roseanne" (1988-1997) where it was implied that Roseanne Barr's character was a huge fan of Janis Joplin.  On one episode Roseanne and Jackie were going for a drive and Jackie mentioned something about "learning the truth at 17" and Roseanne said, "Not Janis Ian, you moron! Janis Joplin." LOL.  It is unfortunate that Janis died so young.  Looking at that picture of her, she still strikes me as being this young woman with the face of a young girl.  I mean no disrespect by saying this, I always thought there was a strong girl-like quality in her face.

I loved Janis too. As you say ...there was almost a child like quality about her. Made you want to take care of her even. Just hope Michelle can do her justice. :)

No one in the public eye knew it appears. They kept their relationship very private, secret... He is also a widower. It makes for a special union, in my eyes.

She got married to Phil Elverum.

At first I read "Phil Everly" - I was like "What?"

I didn't even know she was seeing anyone!

Good on her / them for keeping it private. It shows it can be done without all the hoopla - and it also shows we will never truly know what goes on behind closed doors. I don't know who he is, but I wish them all the best.

Here's the full interview in 'Vanity Fair':

https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2018/07/michelle-williams-marriage-wedding-equal-pay

Thank you so much, Sonja! What an interesting interview. I have never known a lot about Michelle but this interview has made me appreciate her very much. I am blown away and full of admiration for how she remained private all these years.  And this:

“I never gave up on love,” she later tells me, saying that she has spent the 10 years since Ledger’s death looking for the kind of “radical acceptance” she felt from him. “I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’ ”

Wow, I did not know it was possible to love and appreciate Heath more than I do, but this has done it. So beautiful, on both their parts.
I know a love that will never grow old.

I absolutely agree with you on this. One just never knows...

The little bit that I read about him and how he grieved for his wife, tells me he is a good guy. They both deserve much happiness after all they have been through.

Hope their daughters get along well together.

Matilda is now 12. His daughter is only 3, so the age difference is pretty big.

Haven't I read his daughter was only a few months old when her mother died? That's so sad  :(

I truly hope they'll be happy. Michelle will always be connected to Heath, but 10 years after his death she deserves a new beginning. A new chapter in her life.

Am I the only one who thinks that, if Jake ever gets married, he'll tie the knot in exactly the same way Michelle did? No publicity, a secret, small wedding with just close friends and relatives... it can be done. Amy Schumer did it too. Anne Hathaway too, I believe.

Sorry...and I really mean that....but I have so much difficulty with this :'(
I hold Heath so deep in my heart....I just can't...I just CAN'T imagine how
anyone can move on having known...held .... loved and lived with this beautiful
darling man. I know it's expecting the impossible for Michelle to carry on being
on her own.....but...... :(

Yes....I believe Jake will be very secretive about his relationship with the girl
he wants to marry and when he DOES marry.....I think the first kiddie will be going to school by the time we know he is even married at all !!!!!!!!!!!
But it just goes to show....a private wedding and marriage can be done.
