Okay good!  I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone catch up and then start together.  This will give me a chance to go back and revisit the book at a leisurely pace and develop question [yeah, right...I probably will be up late the night before, as with everything else!  ::)]

Thanks Ellen!

I've yet to get the book too. I've been meaning to stop by B&N each Sunday morning, but something has always come up. It's hard to get into that shopping center during the week.

I am going into hospital for a few days at the end of next week to have the metalwork, (which was put in following a very nasty hiking accident in 2001), taken out of my knee. I have ordered Dave's book to read while I am recovering.
Would it be possible to hold the discussion until those of us on this side of the Atlantic have time to read the book?

Ow!  Good luck with the surgery!

Yes, of course it will be possible to wait.  I already was planning on waiting until Nikki had read the book, so I would be happy to wait for you as well.  Should we plan on starting in mid-June?

Thanks, Michael.  Mid-June sounds fine, but I will defer to Janjo if she isn't ready by then and recovering, I hope.

Good luck, Jess!

Michael, mid-June would be perfect for me.  I'll be getting back from Colorado about then, and will be home for a month (except for the weekend in SF).

I think it would be a really good book to discuss.  It's factual, but it's open to a lot of interpretation and a discussion of our reactions.

Mid June works for me as well.  My copy arrived in the mail, but I haven't had the time to read it yet.

Works for me too Michael. I may go back over it again, since I have read it, but that time frame is good for me.

Thanks for doing this.

Glad to do it, Linda.  Glad you'll be there too.

Michael,

I know I haven't been on in a long time, but count me in for the Book Club discussion on Columbine. Mid June is fine, I have read and reread the book and would love to participate.. I have been in touch with Dave through email, talking about my impressions, but would love to have an opportunity to share thoughts about this literary piece. It still resonates with me profoundly. And I am very happy for Dave with the evident success of the book. How great is that?!! Hello! to all!! Caroline

I am anxious to discuss it as well. I have read it and was able to attend when Dave was in northern California for his book signing!!!

Looking forward to seeing you here!!!!!

Linda,
I've been bugging Dave about coming up to Toronto.. :D  Unless the publishing company foots the bill, he isn't going to be able to come up this way.. I am thinking of starting up a booth somewhere on our subway line with the caption of : Bring Dave Here.. Not sure if this will work... ha ha ;)  I am looking forward to this thread, though, a chance to put thoughts to thread, as so many have done regarding BBM.. What a great venue... And I get the feeling that alot of people will be on here, just because of the incredible support everyone is giving Dave...
