Yay brokeback pottery! I’m so glad they still have a spot on shelves and in cupboards around the world. That’s the thing about ceramics, they remain unchanged and last a VERY long time as long as they don’t get broken!

THE SWITCH

jack said he was upset
about the long commute
describing how it killed him
but ennis insisted he wouldn’t
mind it one bit so they switched

the first time ennis
drove down to texas
worrying way too much
about his cranky old truck
stopping to check the oil
water air and all that
it was the longest
trip he ever took

but when ennis drove back
in his almost brand new
hardly used pickup
he had to smile

fuckin twist
he whispered
thumb caressing
the steering wheel
just like he did when
he touched jack’s neck

the second time
ennis drove to TX
he only went to see
jack’s wife and his kid

lightning flat to childress
was his last long distance trip
