Here's a shot of Blaze from this afternoon.  He's going through an odd time right now.

He's between 13-14 years old now. He is also having an issue with his health. He lately has started to leak a fluid from his chest area. sometimes there is blood mixed with it. Mom and dad took him to the vet and they said he doesn't have cancer.

Other than this issue, he is his usual self. Walking around, eating normally, using the litter box normally, and doesn't seem to be in any pain as he lets mom touch and pet his stomach and chest, and he purrs loudly when pet.

Mom says she's going to take him back to the vet, to see what else can be done to help this clear up.

He's not under a blanket, the vet told mom to put warm compresses on him, and as stupid as this sounds, he enjoys it. When he sees her coming with one, he immediately rolls on his side and lets her put it on him.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Chuck.  Is there a wound where the fluid is coming out?  I'm glad your Mom is taking him back for the vet to look at again, I hope they can treat it and that he recovers quickly.  It's a good sign that all his activities are normal and that he still enjoys pets.

It's adorable about the warm compresses.  It must feel good and may be giving him some relief.

Please keep us posted.
Bye, Felicia

We can't find any wound, so we're not sure if there is a fluid-filled abscess, or if he has a wound that is unhealed.

Hiya everyone. Just wanted to give you a post here to let you all know that we had to say good-bye to Blaze today. Mom & Dad had to take him to the vet, and they advised mom and dad that it was time. They did what they needed to do outside, so my parents could be with him, because mom and dad couldn't enter the vet's office due to the virus.

We'll miss you, Blaze. Thanks for the laughs and love you gave.

Fritz, Blaze had been 'dry' for about three days, we thought that he turned a corner, and then this afternoon he started to loose fluid and blood.  They took him to the emergency vet,  and they said it was edema, and they're not sure of what the underlying causes were.

The nurse told my mom that while Blaze was still even tempered, he was must likely in some sort of discomfort, so mom and dad opted to end his suffering, and they had him put down.

Thankfully, they were able to do what needed to be done in the parking lot, because mom and dad were not allowed in the vet's office due to the virus.  They were able to be with him in his last minutes.
