News Flash! Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, Fed Up With Being World-Renowned Actors and Celebrities, Embark on a Second Career…
(Jake: It's time to wet my whistle! Oh yeah!
Heath: Want a cold stiff one?)
Should they have given up their day jobs? YOU DECIDE…[/size]
MagicMountain: There is a subtle subtext here, worthy of AP herself. The "wet whistle" certainly has sexual overtones, while "cold stiff one" could also be sexual, but at the same time, it foretells death quietly but powerfully. As humor, however, it is a little obvious.
jasonWV: No way, José. I don't want a cold stiff anything.
TwistandShout: I don't know. By the time Jack's wet his whistle on it, it won't be cold any longer… But tfmisc could write a better caption with half the keys stuck.
Lyle (Mooska): So could Jannis. And they both used the same picture. No challenge there. Hmm: caption idea. Cocktail series two: "Cold Cock: Opens you up and wrings you out with one slug." --Nah. Even theirs was funnier than that. Wonder if I could have them selling this picture in my next Laugh-In one? (Leaves.)
Ministering Angel: It's at least as romantic as my "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" parody.
IWishIKnew: Ah, yes--"DNA from wall to wall." A tender and lyrical ode to the season.
HR: As long as I've got Paddle Me Jack and Tickle Me Ennis, I don't care what Ledger and Gyllenhaal do.
CellarDweller115 PMs ImJackShesEnnis: Well, I don't know if it IS a Caption if they write on the actual picture! Do you think it's OT?
ImJackShesEnnis: Look, you've got Jake Gyllenhaal talking about wetting his whistle with Heath Ledger. That's "on" any Brokeback topic he likes, as far as I'm concerned. But you can ask Melisande.
CanStandIt: You know, it actually is pretty funny. I think we ought to be nice to them so they'll come back. Heath especially.
Trubrokeback: Heath and Jake, writing sexually charged captions about Ennis and Jack on a still from Brokeback. Well, a boy can dream, can't he?
gnash: I hereby offer both of them my services…to help lick that rather poor photo into shape. Gratis, if I get to help lick Heath, I mean help Heath first.
