This article was part of several pages in our Free Local paper discussing the difficulties face by ageing gays needing to go into retirement villages or nursing homes. It is now on the front page of the website of our Regional newspaper (same ownership)
I am very familiar with Summerset where these men live, as for a number of years I went there at least once, often twice or more per week to take an elderly lady to church, concerts and on walks. Sylvia has now passed so I rarely go there now.

I do notice they mention parties of couples. I was actually told by one gay couple (they were near neighbours back in Australia) that they rarely invited single men to their dinners.
While I have lots of heterosexual friends and I do not hide my sexuality, I do not know any out gay men in my city. Being a university town there are a number of  GLBT societies on offer but they are hardly going to welcome or be of much interest to a gay man in his late 70's.

I remember a few decades ago when someone changed this old saying a bit, with "Nobody loves you when you're old and gay."

It was lovely to find that I was still attractive when in my 60s to many Thai men.

Clinton put him in the ambassadorial post through a recess appointment, bypassing the Senate, in 1999. Hormel served until 2001.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has installed its first openly trans bishop. I'm sort of not surprised it took place in San Francisco.
