This article was part of several pages in our Free Local paper discussing the difficulties face by ageing gays needing to go into retirement villages or nursing homes. It is now on the front page of the website of our Regional newspaper (same ownership)
I am very familiar with Summerset where these men live, as for a number of years I went there at least once, often twice or more per week to take an elderly lady to church, concerts and on walks. Sylvia has now passed so I rarely go there now.

While I have lots of heterosexual friends and I do not hide my sexuality, I do not know any out gay men in my city. Being a university town there are a number of GLBT societies on offer but they are hardly going to welcome or be of much interest to a gay man in his late 70's.
