When you receive your book...
« on: May 08, 2007, 08:46:51 PM »
Beyond Brokeback is being shipped as of Monday, May 7.  ;D

When you receive your copy of the book, I hope you will take time to let us know of any serious errors that you may find in the book. I'm sure there will be some in spite of the best efforts of dozens of pairs of eyes editing and proofreading.

Please post errors here. They'll be reviewed and the necessary corrections will be made before releasing the book to Amazon and other booksellers.

Other comments or discussions should be posted in The Book Project - Discuss, Anticipate, Collaborate here.

And marketing ideas and discussion is still at BrokeBook Fever.

Until Amazon et al. get our book several weeks from now, it will still be available through the Forum until we have depleted the 1000 books in the first printing.

Thanks,
- KittyHawk

BOOKS ARRIVED---

I thought maybe this would be only the hardcovers that I need to distribute for complimentary contacts, but no, they managed to merge all my orders of various softcovers, etc.

I was going to say how gorgeous the hard cover is --

honestly, the softcover is also really beautiful.

The pages are very inviting -- IMO, highly pick-up-able.

I can't comment more because I just hurried in here to post.  Anybody else?

Fantastic!

I think they must have sent out large orders first! SIngletons to follow.

I did find out that they had to actually borrow space to handle our 1000 copies and they brought in extra people to help with the mailing. They HOPE to get them all sent out this week.

Not received yet. Doubtlessly they wanted to get them out before the postage increase Monday.

Yes, I expect the postage increase was a looming nightmare for them.  ;)

I'm curious, I ordered this book with the first wave of pre-order advertising - I think it was back in February?  I never heard a thing.  Did the company send out confirmation e-mails?

No, they didn't send confirmations. Our book was a new experience for them in many ways. They had never allowed pre-orders before, they've never accepted international orders before, I don't believe they'd ever given a book it's own order page before, and I don't believe they've ever sold this many copies all at once before. They love us and hate us all at the same time!!! ;D

hi kittyhawk,
i assume the books are shipping via bookrate -- the most economical but also the sloooooooooooowest, right?

HI, Charlotte,

I think the single book orders must be going that way. The P.O. advertises that 7 to 10 days is what to expect when you use book rate or media mail.  :-\
