I always found it odd that in the times I saw BBM in the theater, there would always be laughter from the audience.

The guys would make out, it cuts to Alma coming to the door (audience reacts with "ooooooooooh") and then goes back to the guys, and laughter happens.

It didn't last long, but I often chalked it up to nervous laughter.

^^  "Nervous laughter"  Yeah, heard that a few times too.  That may be the outcome of either not understanding the gravity of what they were just shown or either they are so shallow they were laughing at someone enduring emotional trauma right before their eyes.   It's not far removed from watching someone die. Not a pretty comment for them I'm afraid. My .02.   V.

I’ve never seen it in the cinema, but I would absolutely hate that - ruining the moment.
