Yikes! Twisters in Jersey. An acquaintance of mine keeps in touch with two friends in New Jersey and they couldn't believe how much rain kept falling.
___

Now I'm inspired to be cheeky:

Meanwhile, in SoCal we're having abnormal weather, too.
Instead of high August/early September heat (it reached
111 a year ago) our week has been cloudy and the high
temps in the 70's.  Horrible.      And 60's at night.
Unheard of.  :o

The humidity the past two months in Southern California
has blessedly kept fires to a bare minimum. I noticed it
was 96% when I retired last night. That's quite unusual
during this time of year.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, we are having a pretty bad thunderstorm.  Very loud thunder and very bright lightning.
