Wonder what Jack would make of my woody. . .

Let's see: With an Ennis-sized woody, Jack could make:

1. A log cabin
2. With a wrap around porch
3. With his-n-his hitching posts in front
4. And one (1) winter's supply of firewood.

Or his deserts are small
Who dares not put it to the touch

I got scolded by many regarding a Godfather caption posting I did indicating Lureen's guilt in Jacks Murder. With no graphics. More than one person got on my case about it.  But Jack getting slaughtered is okay to show?

You people act like it was real blood. It is Jake G. with fake blood, fake mustasche, sideburns and what appears to be fake hair. I posted to give Jacks thoughts in his last moments. It has been posted on Bettermost for several months. I did change it to an earlier frame, sightly blurry but no blood, to me not as profound.

It is true, of course, that Jack is not real, nor was this particular act of violence. Neither is an idea "real," but if you let it fully into your heart, it can heal the world--or kill, with unequivocal reality. We all lampoon Ennis/Heath and Jack/Jake mercilessly here, but the love we feel for them is real, even if they were not. And in that love, they do have a real existence. And therefore, here at least, where we have even made fun of the finding of the shirts--which I personally find offensive--we are upset by captions using this series of pictures. But it doesn't seem to me that any of the posts are personal attacks, and I hope you don't think they are--I think everyone was startled, and they're trying to work out the appropriate reaction within themselves.

That said, your substitution was appreciated. It is very interesting intellectually, I think, that we who post regularly on THIS thread can have such a strong reaction, so long after the first impact.  But that is neither here nor there, and is additionally OT.

This is not intended as criticism. It is just a musing. I would have thought that we were unshockable. Apparently, we are not.

Little Known Brokeback Fact: Ennis briefly became a Hindu mystic after Jack surprised him with a copy of the Kama Sutra. This rare photo shows him after the marathon session in which he and Jack tried every position in the book.

After mourning Jack's death and discovering his true self,
Ennis decided to go to San Francisco after all
 - and missed the boat as usual.

Paul watching TV movie: Oh crap. I hope they show Marilyn Monroe again real quick.

Robert thinking: Sweet Cheeks, if you ever saw me singin' in a sleeveless gown you'd forget all about Marilyn.

MR. ED:  Yes, yes, I'm a gelding, have been, like, forever.  So does
this qualify me to be a member of Jake's Eunuch Fan Base?

Ennis, leading a double life in SF for ages:

And twice I year I go up to the mountains in Wyoming
dressed as a as rough, hard, lonesome cowboy
never speaking more than three syllables a day
 - and all this 'coz my Texas lover gets off on this macho stuff... (laughs)
WISE UP

IngKräddiBöll & Ingmariposa & Ingelspringel & Ingicito & Ingalicious & IngWriter & Annbilivöbäll WORD WIZARD

sausage-on-a-roll-poster & charkuterimästare

And maybe, he thought, they'd never got much farther than that.
