Too easy.
In 2010, 606 people (all ages) were accidentally killed by guns.
Almost 3000 teens (15-19) die in traffic accidents a year.
1100 kids under 19 drown each year.
44 kids under 5 died of heat stroke in hot cars in 2013.
HIGH school sports account for 1.2 million trips to the ER annually.

Anybody see anything about those three knuckleheads from Oklahoma who shot and killed that student from Australia allegedly just because they were bored and had nothing to do?  :(

Does Oklahoma still have and impose capital punishment? I can think of three good candidates for it.  >:(

I saw that the black kid's father says he's innocent because he was just along for the ride.
Man, peer pressure is something else in Oklahoma.
(I was going to say "birds of a feather..." but figured Paul  would think it trivialized socio-economic influences of growing up in the southwest.)

Yes, I did and it is so disturbing that it's incomprehensible. Weren't they law abiding citizens with guns, though,
until they weren't?  Reminds me of this: (Angie is a guy, for those who don't know.)

MARTY (1955)

Angie: What do you feel like doing tonight?
Marty: I don't know, Ange. What do you feel like doing?
Angie: We ought to do somethin'. It's Saturday night. I don't want to go bowling like last Saturday.
How about calling up that big girl we picked up in the movies about a month ago up in the RKO Chester?
Marty: I don't know, I didn't really like her.
Angie: Well, what do you feel like doing tonight?
Marty: I don't know, Ange. What do you feel like doing?
Angie: We're back to that, huh? I say to you, 'What do you feel like doing tonight?' And you say back to me, 'I dunno. What do you feel like doing tonight?' Then we wind up bored sitting around your house with a couple of cans of beer watching the Hit Parade on television.

shooting him in the back.

The info may be damaging but it isn't terrorism. Miranda was detained illegally.

I guess England doesn't have Miranda rights,  ;) .

P.S.:  In West Hollywood we're required to be read our Carmen Miranda rights.

I'm sure people are aware of this now:

Bradley Manning's court-martial reached an end today, with Army Colonel Denise Lind sentencing him to 35 years in prison. She also ordered a reduction in rank to private, a forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a dishonorable discharge. He will receive credit for 1,294 days for time served. According to an Army spokesman, Manning would be eligible for parole after serving 1/3 of his sentence; with additional credit for time served, he could face 8-9 years. Manning also has the possibility of a clemency finding that would reduce his sentence.

I heard about them on the way to work, what assholes.  The guy they killed was a 25 year-old Austrailian student/basketball player.

I haven't as yet seen any photos of the accused, just of the victim. Poor guy.  :(

I wonder which country's laws are tougher in this kind of case, ours, or Austrailia's?  Perhaps since they were so bored some time to a foreign country might do them well.

You have heard, haven't you, that they're all teenagers? The black kid is 15, the two whites a few years older.

That shouldn't matter a whit.  They should be tried as adults.

Oh, and they were caught because of traffic cameras. Damned infringement on our right to privacy.
