A Tearful Farewell: President Obama, Daughter Malia (and Even Joe Biden) Weep During Farewell Speech


Many were emotional while witnessing President Barack Obama make his farewell address, including the commander-in-chief himself.

Obama pulled out his handkerchief and wiped his eyes when speaking about his wife of 25 years, First Lady Michelle Obama.

“Michelle – Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl of the Southside, for the past 25 years, you’ve been not only my wife and mother of my children, but my best friend,” the president said. ...

I may miss her more than I miss him. I ain't jokin'. I think she's an amazing woman.

You know, they used to call Joe Biden "the third Senator from Pennsylvania." I'll miss him, too.

Of course I'll miss the President, too. A lot.

And, may God forgive me, but will somebody take out Mitch McConnell?* When he complains about the Democrats doing exactly what the Republicans did eight years ago, I so want to slap him silly.

*OK, just out of the Senate? Please?

I am so with you, Jeff. I have come to loathe that man and anytime I see him I get viscerally upset.
If I were ever around him I really think I'd haul off and slug him. Maybe he'd be more upset if I gave
him a big wet one on the mouth. Ditch Mitch. In any way possible.

Jury condemns Dylann Roof to death for Charleston, S.C., church shooting that killed 9


A federal jury on Tuesday condemned unrepentant white supremacist Dylann Roof to death for the June 2015 massacre of nine black parishioners at a South Carolina Bible study class.

Roof stood stone-faced, showing no emotion, as U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel announced the jury's unanimous verdict, which came after about three hours of deliberation.

Relatives and friends of the victims were quiet. Some left court smiling and embracing....

I actually think they gave him just what he wanted, I think life in prison without parole would have been a worse punishment..

The most amazing thing Trump said at his press conference this morning:

■ Mr. Trump was asked how he would reform the news media he criticizes frequently. “I don’t recommend reforms,” he said. “I recommend people that have some moral compass.” He added, “I will tell you, some of the media outlets that I deal with are fake news, more so than anybody.”

LOLOL!  Trump talks about people having a moral compass when he has none whatsoever.

He whines "FAKE NEWS!"

I say "FAKE PRESIDENT."

From that to First Lady of the United States, that is something!


They say think Jackie Kennedy, not Eleanor Roosevelt, Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama.

All I can think of is "classless" and whoever "THEY" are to equate her with Jackie Kennedy don't have a clue as to what "THEY" are talking about.

Agree, Linda. And there's still a question of whether she was borught here legally or not.
As is his pattern, during the campaign D.T. said he would have a press conference and
show us her papers. Didn't do it. Why? Probably the same thing as why he won't release
any tax returns.

True, Lyle. These photo shoots were done while she had a visitor's visa, that specifically said she was not to make money while she was here, and I guarantee she did not do them for free.

One of the main things that just gets me riled about the conservatives is akin to what
Jeff mentioned about Senator McConnell's two-faced hypocrisy.  When Kerry ran for
President the conservatives complained about it being unthinkable that John Kerry's
wife was -- egads! -- not born in the United States.  But Melanoma?  No problem!

How can you trust any group that lacks, like I mentioned above today, any moral compass.

I guess, Linda, they weren't comparing Melania to her as someone with class, grace and dignity, but
someone preferring to stay behind the scenes and support her paycheck husband, as First Ladies
were more required to do in the past.

Regardless, it seems to me that in order to be The First Lady, one must first be a lady.
