I guess T needs all the endorsements he can get.

A friend I talk to mentions newsy things to me about the cretin once in awhile and asks what I think about it. I always answer the same thing, "Nothing the cretin does, says or anything connected with him that happens surprises me. From day one. Look forward to numbers of programs, documentaries, books and films once he's gone with revelation after revelation of things we have yet to know happened, things that'll curl your hair and numb the senses.

And you know how he's doing anything he can to stay in office? He won't go quietly and even if he's forced to would it really surprise you if he sets up some kind of defacto Vichy government and his own television network to whine and curse that he is still the chosen one?

The stain of this man on the country is going to take a toll for awhile. Like the electing a Q-Anon believing, gun brandishing and violence threatening Congresswoman in Georgia to the House of Representatives. Of course the cretin has congratulated her primary win and called her a rising star in the Republican party.

Thank you, I did read David Remnick's New Yorker editorial. A quote from it:

"When Trump was elected, there were those who considered his history and insisted that this was a kind of national emergency, and that to normalize this Presidency was a dangerous illusion. At the same time, there were those who, in the spirit of patience and national comity, held that Trump was 'our President,' and that 'he must be given a chance.' Has he had enough of a chance yet?"

Remnick wrote a piece the day after the election about what a national shame the results were and how this will affect our country.

The image it gave to me is like putting one drop of food coloring into a jar of water. It starts spreading and spreading, tainting every part of the clear liquid.

The only way to combat it is to flush it out with clear water. Try it yourself. It takes a long time unless there's a flood of it.

A few things trickling out this week...

Still not surprised.

I had not seen this Lincoln Project ad before, concerning Christian evangelical support for Trump.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoglNFN5-Js

It starts out with this frame:

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." -Matthew 7:15

This Bible quote comes to mind:
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

In support of Trump, these evangelicals keep repeating "Sometimes God chooses flawed people to deliver his message."

There will come a day when they realize His message isn't what they think it is.
His message to them is they need to look within and discover how they could ever have supported such an immoral cretin.

Except that's not a drop of food coloring. That's a drop of blood.

Why, oh why, will Joe not come out and put things together and say, "193,000 Americans are dead because Donald Trump lied to them."

(OK, maybe that's not strictly accurate, but still. ... )

Trump to visit California amid criticism for silence on fires

By CARLA MARINUCCI 09/12/2020

President Donald Trump will visit California Monday for a briefing with Gov. Gavin Newsom and emergency response officials on the wildfires, a White House official confirmed Saturday.

Trump will meet with local and federal fire and emergency response personnel during a trip to McClellan Park, a former air base just outside of the city of Sacramento, White House spokesman Judd Deere said in an email. The park is also the site the state fire agency has used to launch big firefighting planes.

"Since mid-August, President Trump and Governor Newsom have spoken by phone and the White House and FEMA have remained in constant contact with State and local officials throughout the response to these natural disasters,'' Deere said. "The President continues to support those who are battling raging wildfires in a locally-executed, state-managed, and federally-supported emergency response."

Deere noted that "the President has approved a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for California that began on August 14 for individual and public assistance."

Couple dies from COVID-19 holding hands, within four minutes of each other in Rowan Co., N.C.

By WBTV Staff - Published: Sep. 11, 2020

A husband and wife, married for 48 years, died within four minutes of each other, holding hands, in the hospital in Salisbury one week ago from COVID-19. Their funeral was held Wednesday.

“They were married 48 years, been together 50, they walked hand in hand for those 50 years,” said son Shane Peoples.

One week ago, Shane Peoples says he was cheated. His mom and dad, 67-year-old Johnny Lee Peoples and 65-year-old Cathy Darlene Peoples died from COVID-19. It marked the end of a thirty-day ordeal of both parents contracting the virus, rapidly declining, and then dying. It started with his mother, just days away from retirement.

“It was mainly the fever and loss of taste,” Peoples said. “My dad starting showing symptoms two days later. About two weeks later they were both put in the ICU. Everything just went south, everything just got worse.”

And when the end was in sight, Shane says the hospital staff did what it could to bring the couple together.  “The next day they put them in the same room, same ICU room, they put their hands together, the nurses gathered around and they passed within four minutes of each other,” Peoples said.

Just love the choice of words *he* chose..... at an interview
he was giving....when someone asked him about the forest
fires and the devastation it has caused to peoples homes and
lives:
" IT WILL COOL DOWN SOON "
                                               :o
Wanting him to come back... before anyone notices
part of the world has not moved...since he left.

Smoke from western wildfires reaches East Coast

John Bacon, USA TODAY - 09/15/2020

Intense smoke from historic wildfires that is filling the lungs of millions of Westerners is clouding skies across the nation.

AccuWeather meteorologist Matt Benz said you can draw a line from California through St. Louis and on to Norfolk, Virginia – pretty much everyplace north of that line is looking at smoke-tainted skies. Areas south of that line see less smoke because of air coming up from the Gulf.

"Amazingly, that wildfire smoke has traveled thousands of miles and finally has reached the East," Benz told USA TODAY. "It looks like clouds, but it is smoke. And we are stuck with this until the weather pattern changes."

A weak cold front expected to sweep through much of the East in coming days probably won't be enough to clear the air, Benz warned.  The upside is that the smoke is so high in the Eastern sky that residents aren't breathing it.

Coronavirus death toll from Maine wedding rises to 7, with over 175 infected

By Minyvonne Burke  -  Sept. 15, 2020, 2:17 PM EDT

The death toll from a coronavirus outbreak linked to an indoor wedding and reception in Maine has risen to seven, with the number of cases connected to the event up to 176.

The latest death was reported at the Maplecrest Rehabilitation Center in Madison, where five prior deaths were also deemed connected to the Aug. 7 wedding and reception. One person died at a hospital in the Millinocket area, a spokesman for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

About 65 people attended the event, in violation of Gov. Janet Mills' executive order limiting indoor gatherings to 50 people, the Maine CDC has said.

The wedding ceremony was held at Tri Town Baptist Church in East Millinocket, about 63 miles north of Bangor, and a reception was held at the Big Moose Inn Cabins and Campground in Millinocket.

A person who answered the phone Tuesday at Big Moose Inn said they are not commenting and the church could not immediately be reached.

None of the seven people who have died attended the wedding or the reception.

Had a Barr-like figure been attorney-general in 1918, no telling how many more people would have died. Possibly including some of Barr's ancestors.
