apparently, that location is going to be closed permanently as well.

I can't figure out why the other members of that post got punished for something the one guy did. It doesn't sound like they other members of the Legion location got together to censor the speaker.

I was wondering that too.   Not sure why they took that action.

Here's some news for those that keep up with Armie. I truly wish him well.  ;)

Ned Beatty was not known as a leading man, but he made a career from supporting roles in some of Hollywood’s most enduring films, including “All the President’s Men,” “Rudy” and “Network.” Beatty died at 83.

What a career and what a loss!   Yeah Linda, I will never forget that "Deliverance" scene where he's forced to “squeal like a pig”.  IDK until tonight's news that the "Deliverance" role was his first.  WOW!  V.

In the little town of Lovettsville VA, pride flags were vandalized and stolen. Now more pride flags are flying than ever before in the town.

Most cities, at least, can do both.

So my Mom's birthday is now a holiday!
(She would've been 100 years old today.)

And in Joe Manchin's voting bill compromises is a provision to make Election Day another national holiday.

In decades past I was in favor of that. I was more in favor of changing election day to a Sunday when most democracies hold their elections. But with so many ways to vote now (unless the R's destroy them all) then
it doesn't seem as urgent or necessary.

There used to be laws on many books that bars would be closed on election day. So you could go vote for those that would drive you to drink later on, I guess.  :)

Does anyone know any place that still requires bars to be closed on election day?

Hard to get up-to-date info. This article dates from 2008.

This might be a bit more up to date.

As of November 2020, only parts of Puerto Rico, as well as certain Alaskan jurisdictions, have Election Day dry laws in place. So if you live in Alaska or Puerto Rico, check your municipality's website or call your local bar or liquor store before attempting to head out for a drink. If you live anywhere in the U.S. besides those two places, you should be fine to pick up alcohol today.
