Hi Lyle.
I've already been watching all the US regional games for about 10 days now. Half have been on ESPN+, but I've seen the rest that have been broadcast on ESPN. The last one played was yesterday. Lots of very close games and only a few blowouts. All of the regional international games were played months ago. They aren't broadcast here.

I already have most of the games to be recorded since so many overlap, plus I can fast forward thru the commercials. ;)

My whole heart and support is behind UK ladies soccer team *Lionesses* for the world cup against Spain....to be held in Australia.

What has come as a fabulous surprised to me ..and I say, to other folk as well...
are the huge crowds in the stadiums supporting the female teams. Hardly any free
seats. When you think just a few years ago ....women soccer teams were treated
as a joke.

YOU GO GIRLS....LETS HEAR YOU ROAR !!  🦁

It seems to me in Los Angeles that I hear and see more coverage of Women's Soccer than the men's!

Yesterday, something I've never seen before. A Dodger double header! The San Diego Padres, Anaheim Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers had their Sunday games rescheduled for Saturday due to the storm approaching for today. We won both!

Double headers used to be a thing in MLB, people could see two games for one price! Of course, that's been a thing of the past and avoided at all costs if necessary.

The announcers said that the last time the Dodgers had a weather related double header scheduled was back in 1999. I know since the stadium was opened we've had very few rainouts compared to other places. Now a lot of stadiums in rainy locations have retractable roofs so they can play when it rains.

I looked up the info, the Dodgers have had 17 rainouts since the stadium opened in 1962:

4/21/67 vs St. Lous
4/12/76 vs San Diego
9/10/76 vs Atlanta
9/11/76 vs Atlanta
5/8/77 vs Philadelphia
5/9/77 vs Philadelphia
8/17/77 vs San Francisco
4/15/78 vs Atlanta
9/5/78 vs San Francisco
4/11/82 vs San Diego
8/18/83 vs New York
9/24/86 vs San Diego
4/19/88 vs San Diego
4/20/88 vs San Diego
4/21/88 vs San Diego
4/11/99 vs Colorado
4/17/00 vs Houston

Totals by month:
April: 9
May: 2
June: 0
July: 0
August: 2
September:4

I found out something I had wondered about a couple times. We usually have hot dry weather and no rain in September. I recalled telling people that I remember one day on my birthday in September, when I had the day off from work, that it poured rain all day, from morning to night. But I didn't remember what day of the week or year that was, but it's on the list above! Now I know.

I'm guessing you all have heard of Michael Lorenzen's no-hitter, and Trea Turner's two home runs in the same inning?

I'm not sure as yet if this photo is legitimate as I've not seen it posted by any news outlets or news media. Can't really verify it, though there maybe is a video of it taken from a helicopter.

Phillies lost, but still that was nice, especially when the kids and the players were talking to each other. It was fun to see pics of some of the grown-ups from when they were in Little League.  :)

These days I wouldn't be surprised if it was a drone--can drones get up that high?

Take care, Lyle.

It was a good game!  I've been watching for a couple of weeks now, with one more to go. They've been showing the adult players and their Little League picture cards all week. They get a kick out of showing the announcers cards as little kids too. I really love that they have adult softball stars as announcers and interviewers as well.

There is one pitcher from Chinese Taipei, a 12-year-old right-hander started the game, throwing 3 2/3 innings and striking out nine of the 11 batters he faced while allowing just two balls in play. Chen-Jun’s fastball was clocked at a blazing 80 mph, 104 mph MLB equivalent,
with a slider that hit at least 70 mph..

I haven't been able to watch many of the games because my TV conked out and so what little I've seen's been online. I've finally gotten another TV, ugh, and learning it's like trying to learn to land a plane. Heh! WAhat can ya do? During the game yestertday I kept thinking how mice the weather looked.  ;D

The photos of Dodger Stadium were accurate. Awhile ago the Dodgers tweeted this out:
Dodger Stadium trending? We get it. It looks beautiful this morning.

I don't know what it is with the Cleveland Guardians ground crew at Progressive field, but the Dodgers were playing there yesterday and after 2 1/2 innings the Ground Crew stopped the game and covered the field in the tarp. An hour and a half later, without ANY rain having come down, MLB called the game and said it would be finished on Thursday, today, and start at 10am central. Thursday's game would start 1/2 hour right after the previous game was finished.

In the top of the 9th today with the score Dodgers 6 - Guardians 1, the ground crew comes out and covers the field again as there's to be a storm pass over. However, an hour later without any rain, and most likely the game would have been over, still no rain and the second game has yet to begin. With a score of 6-1 the game could be "called" for the Dodgers, and just go on to the second game, but that's not happened. The Dodgers have to go to Boston for a weekend with the Red Sox.

They're starting the first game's top of the 9th now. That game started nearly 24 hours ago. Strange.
