I'd been wanting to and a few days ago I decided it was way past time to go see another Dodger game this year and I decided to go last night because I could get a great seat for a great price (the lowest price i've gotten one in 5-6 years), and it was one of my favorite player's bobblehead giveaway nights (Chris Taylor) and, I found out, also his 33rd birthday!
I also got another unexpected treat. I got to see the LLWS winning team from El Segundo! They were invited to the stadium yesterday afternoon where they got a tour and met the players, got autographed baseballs and such, and then were also honored before the game, making a tour around the field for the fans to see them and then their own section of seats to watch the game; the stadium cameras showing them on occasion between the innings. By all accounts they had an unlimited budget for refreshments all night!
The Dodgers player in the photo is Chris Taylor. His father threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Chris before the game. Chris's father was so happy and he ran back to his son and gave him a big kiss on the cheek, which I thought was great.
Lots of happiness in the stadium last night, along with a fabulous picturesque sunset and a winning game!
