Jonn, with both teams fighting for a play-off spot, it was an excellent Twins - Royals game yesterday with your Royals down 2 - 0 in the 8th inning and coming back to win it 4-2! Exciting!

The Dodgers have to play an afternoon game today against the Guardians and our temperature is supposed to be 102° and the announcers always point out that on the field it's usually 10 or more degrees hotter. They'd probably change it to a night game save for the fact Cleveland has to fly to Chicago for a game tomorrow.

I tried to find some local news at 6 p.m. Saturday. ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox all had football games. They were college games, but still they were football games.

My Chiefs are doing well too! Although I KNOW you don't follow football that much! haha......I see Taylor Swift endorsed Harris, well, that should be a NO BRAINER for anyone, IMHO!!  ;D ;D ;D.............
I DO see that the Dodgers and Phillies are still SAFE in 1st place!

Yeah!

And might well have scored another touchdown had ND not taken a knee at the end of the last series.

Yes, that's true, Fritz! What us the largest score ND has ever made?

Yes, that's true, Fritz! What us the largest score ND has ever made?

142-0, on 28 October 1905, against the football team of the American College of Medicine and Surgery (now the Loyola University Chicago School of Medicine).

From ND Football 2021 Media Guide:
"After a 25-minute first half, with Notre Dame leading 111-0, the second half was shortened to only eight minutes to permit the Doctors time to eat before catching a train to Chicago. Notre Dame scored 27 touchdowns, but missed 20 extra points." (27*5+7)

Current scoring system would have yielded 169-0.

In second place is the 116-7 game against St Viator's College (no longer in existence) on 5 October 1912.

Most lopsided victory after World War II:  64-0  (Duke University, 1966 NOV 02)

Most lopsided defeat:  0-59  (United States Military Academy, 1944 NOV 11)

Most lopsided defeat after World War II:  7-58  (University of Miami / Florida, 1985 NOV 30)

Had there been another touchdown or Purdue not scored theirs, it would have been ND's most lopsided victory since WW2.

Comments in a Washington Post article:

- Notre Dame just walloped Purdue, 66–7 at home at Purdue. Of it we shall not speak here in West Lafayette. 🖤💛

- Hopefully Northern Illinois will apologize to Purdue for ticking off the Irish.

Yes, and Bobby Witt getting lots of press, too! My Dodgers are trying to stay out of 2nd place. Our pitching is a mess. We lost yet another pitcher who was supposed to return this week. Tyler Glasnow. WTF is wrong with so many pitchers out? Every time we have a game lately in the first inning or two we let 4-5-6 runs score. Games have
been hard to watch all season long. Once in awhile it's nice to watch a comfortable game. Make sense?
