You know where I'll be this weekend:  :)

WORLD SERIES

World Series - Game 1
New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Dodgers
5:00 PM - FOX (Pacific time)

Saturday, October 26, 2024
World Series - Game 2
New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Dodgers
5:00 PM - FOX

Sunday, October 27, 2024 (off)

This first game of the WS today won't be like 2017 when the starting temperature for Game 1 at game time here was a record: 103°.  :o  Today it's supposed to reach 79° with mild humidity and clear skies! Beautiful!

Take a deep breath, Lyle! I'm recording both games, so I'm set! Can't be wasting time watching those commercials!  ;D

^^^

When I went to the grocery store today there were people all wearing Dodgers clothes and also LA caps, like I was, too, and it was quite festive. Then I went to Trader Joe's and, at their food tasting area they had someone dressed in Dodgers gear handing out blue tortilla chips with white queso dip (blue & white) and they also had something similar for the Yankees, but I was only paying attention to the Dodgers treat! An hour to go and now I'm really nervous, so I will take that deep breath!

Yes! Thrillers can be torture, too!

In the bottom of the 10th I was...I don't know what word to use. I really don't.
The result felt like a miracle! We all have our garmonbozias (cares & woe), but
it was just so very nice to feel good. Happy. So I embraced that the rest of the
evening. On the West Coast our WS and play-off games are over several hours
before bedtime so we can enjoy it before trying to sleep!!! These moments are
so unbelievable many times!

This was the third straight year that Game 1 of the World Series went to extras.
Before last year it had never even happened in back-to-back World Series Game
ones! I wish Game two would not be played for a week so this feeling could last
for days. But it could anyway because Game two could also be grand! You never
know!

Fritz, I think your support helped! And, Jeff, I read this item today that you might
find interesting: Birthdays are important. Juan Soto became the first player with a
birthday hit in the World Series since the KC Royals’ Eric Hosmer in 2014 Game 3!

There were a whole lot of big events going on in Los Angeles yesterday so the media was having a great time trying to predict traffic nightmares! All of these things were happening:

Dodger Stadium: World Series Game Won (see what I did there?)
SoFi Stadium: East L.A. football classic.
Intuit Dome: David Gilmore (Pink Floyd)
Crypto.com Arena: L.A. Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns
Los Angeles Coliseum: USC Trojans vs. Rutgers
Kia Forum: Jeff Lynne's ELO concert

What? Everyone wasn't staying home watching the Dodgers???  :)

The news I watched later said a lot of these things starting times were spaced out enough
(5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 7:30pm and 8pm) that things weren't all that bad. A good omen for the
Olympics when events will be held at, I believe, all of those places.

Apparently the Lakers game had the Dodgers game playing on their Jumbotron screen over the court and the basketball game stopped for a bit as the crowd, some in Dodgers gear, started cheering at the result. Nice!

No doubt the Yankees were trying to emulate the previous night's final inning.

I am so glad they did not!
