Nats win the home opener! But just barely. Who knew that the Braves could hit so many home runs.

The Braves haven't won a game yet!

I'm sick of the Astros already.

The Angels gave them their first loss last night and the Angel fans were banging on trash cans throughout the game.
Near the end of the game someone threw one down the aisle and it flipped over the railing and landed on the outfield.

The game today was tied in the 9th, but Houston won. I don't know about the Oakland fans whom the Astros opened their season with, but the Angels fans were letting them have it. I'm beginning to think the Astros are the type of players that feed off that and motivate themselves with it, though. What do you do if you want to get to them?

I noticed we are playing 4 games with them this year. Two in Houston in May and two here in August. Be nice if we could be at full capacity by August. Astrosholes.

Fritz, they hit 4 today, but 2 in their previous games combined.

Dodgers home opener tomorrow afternoon!  The Nationals will be visiting.

Supposedly, the pre-game ceremony will include the Dodgers receiving their World Series rings. Unlike several of the past few WS winners whose ring design was disclosed months before they received them, the Dodgers have kept that under wraps. The players said they were only fitted for their rings a month ago. So I'm curious what they'll look like! Lots of sapphires I'm guessing. Maybe there'll be a face mask on it.

They did unveil yesterday the uniforms they'll be wearing: (The VII is for the number of WS championships.)

Because they'll also go on sale to the fans and they want everyone to buy one!

For some reason I don't like the gold around the blue. (The red, yes, but not the blue. Hmm.)

I do like the hat with the gold around the LA: (without the sticker on the brim!)

Heh!  Maybe the Nationals will bring their rings along, too!
They never had an actual ceremony, did they?

We also need to get the stench out of Dodger stadium.
The last baseball games played there was the Oakland A's + Astros Division series.
(Who thought that was a good idea? The Dodgers insisted that the Astros be in the visiting clubhouse.
I'd have filled it up with trash cans.)

The Dodgers got their rings in a 45 minute ceremony today before the game!
There are 232 diamonds and 53 sapphires on each ring. They never say how
much WS rings cost; who wouldn't want one of those, but it all seems a little
too much.

Here's a short video of what the rings look like up close:

Apparently the giant blue boxes the rings come in also show video highlights
of the season or something like that. It was talked about but I haven't seen
inside one of the boxes.

UNTIL--I just this minute found a short cliip (0:13) of it on youtube!
