The out ones don't?

I've always heard that that's one of the special delights of Fleet Week in San Francisco, even these days.

How many "out" midshipmen did you meet 30-40 years ago?

I imagine these days they don't need our bars. They all have aps.

Former MLB Pitcher T.J. House Comes Out with Emotional Public Announcement About His Engagement to His Boyfriend
House is the 3rd MLB player to come out publicly, sharing news of his engagement to his boyfriend.*
by Ken Schultz

*After Glenn Burke and Billy Bean

Inspired by the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, House used the opportunity to announce his engagement to fiancé, Ryan Neitzel. T.J. House played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians. He shared an emotional message about his time in MLB and his engagement to Ryan Neitzel.

“I have been loved my whole life for what I did as a career, and it carried me for the longest time,” he wrote. “Eventually, though, it’s a bandage that covers a wound that needs fresh air to heal…Shame has kept me quiet all these years, but Love has finally set me free.” “I’m finally healing, and days like today are what help me continue to grow into the person I’ve been all along, one I’ve locked up for 20-plus years. Today, I am Loved,” House ended his statement.

Yes, I meant since the end of DADT. But I had gotten the impression that the remaining bars in SF still attracted quite a clientele during that week.

Franco Harris died last night. This Saturday the Steelers were set to retire his number. I understand they're going to proceed with the ceremony. It's a shame he didn't live to see it.

I guess there's reason to root for the Tampa Bay Bucs after all.

On the forum we've seen some links to those light shows done by drones where they program them to simulate pictures or photos or activities of some kind? For many years the Dodgers have have had Friday Night Fireworks each home game on a Friday. Looking at their schedule recently I've noticed, for the first few weeks at least, on Friday nights the schedule says "Drone Show." I assume this to be one of those kinds of things. Interesting.

I'll never understand Drones!! They can be anywhere, anytime, see all the minute details of your every movement too?! Cars with chips showing wherever you are, phone with chips showing where you are too? 1984 happening now? HMMMMM? I'm a private person by nature, but yet I have an Iphone, and a newer vehicle too. Guess I'm not really PRIVATE anymore???  :o :o :o
I don't have the tendancy to go OFF-GRID, but I totally understand those who want to do that!  ;D ;D ;D

Well, the short program just finished.

They skate their long program on Sunday.   Starts at 3:00 Eastern time on Sunday, on the USA network.

The women skate their long program tonight at 8:00 on NBC

Jonn, just a reminder that the men skate at 3:00 today, but on  NBC, not USA.  I was wrong about that.

The USFSA (United States Figure Skating Association) has ended.  For the first time in a long time, the US is allowed 3 entries in all four disciplines.   These medalists will be going to represent the US at the World Figure Skating Championships at Saitama, Japan from March 20–26, 2023, except where noted below

the US National Championships were this weekend, and the newest medalists are:

Pairs
Gold: Alexa Knierim/Brandon Frazier
Silver: Emily Chan/Spencer Howe
Bronze: Ellie Kam/Danny O’Shea

Ice Dance
Gold: Madison Chock/Evan Bates
Silver: Caroline Green/Michael Parsons
Bronze: Christina Carreira/Anthony Ponomarenko **  (Carreira / Ponomarenko will be replaced by Kaitlin Hawayek/Jean-Luc Baker.  This team withdrew from the US Nats due to injury, and based
on scores from prior competitions have been chosen to represent the US in the Ice Dance competition.)

Women
Gold: Isabeau Levito
Silver: Bradie Tennell
Bronze: Amber Glenn

Men
Gold: Ilia Malinin
Silver: Jason Brown
Bronze: Andrew Torgashev **  (The Men's team has not been named yet.  It is assumed Ilia Malinin and Jason Brown will be on the team.  The 3rd position is open.  Even though Andrew
Torgashev won the bronze at the US Nationals, they may opt to send a different skater.)

So this year we're going to have the Kelce Bowl.

Those brothers are a couple of characters, both of them.  :)
