Later I watched the whole thing, from the team leaving Dodger Stadium in five buses to take the freeway to City Hall (where fans lined some overpasses to cheer them, and others in traffic in the opposite lanes honked their car horns).

Here's a photo of that which I described above that I found in USA Today.

Above the crowd...I actually saw this guy climb this pole to sit up there. In fact, several guys, and one girl, did this on all the corners briefly. 1st and Grand Ave. is where Disney Concert Hall is; the building in the background. I was on the corner in front of it.

This photo is from the opposite corner facing where I was, on the other side of that bus, when the parade had arrived!

See that line of people in the distance, underneath the flags on the right? In that area were two city service trucks parked back to back across the road, something like flatbed trucks, where two security people were monitoring things. The entire flatbed was empty except for just those two. There were so many people around that right as the parade was nearing, the two security people let as many people as could safely fit up on those flatbeds to have a better, and quite nice, view! I thought that was great of them.

“The Los Angeles Police department, in partnership with the Los Angeles Fire department and other regional partners, is pleased to share the news that today’s parade was a wonderful, peaceful event,” LAPD Cmdr. Steve Lurie said. “A crowd of over 225,000 Angelinos safely celebrated their World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers downtown, along with 1,000s lining the freeway bridges and alongside the exits, as well as another 60,000 for the stadium celebration. There were no significant adverse events, no arrests were made, and we were thrilled to be part of this celebration. Go Dodgers.”

Linda, I thought you might enjoy reading this, about the first Little Leaguer to make it to the major leagues. Unlimited access.

The Kansas City Chiefs kicked a game-winning field goal off the upright to clinch their ninth consecutive AFC West title  on Sunday.

Does this still excite you, Jonn, or are you ho hum? Or Ho ho ho hum?  :)

haha..........you just cannot count out those Chiefs! IMHO, they have played a sorta lackluster year to date, especially considering all the ONE score wins! You may not agree with Harrison Butker's views on Women and Society, but he has WON the Chiefs a LOT of games this year!  :o :o :o......he's been out with injury the past few games.......those two backup kickers have done thier jobs, although Matthew Wright just barely made the last one last night!  ;D

Notre Dame is also having a lot of problems with field goal kicking.

Last weekend was the wrap up of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating.

American skaters did great, with pairs being the one exception.  The American pair of Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea finished 5th out of 6 pairs.

As for the other disciplines,  Americans won them all.   Madison Chock and Evan Bates took gold in ice dance,  Ilia Malinin won for the men, and Amber Glenn won the women's competition.

Amber's win was a huge thing for her, in a number of different ways.  She was the first American woman to win the Grand Prix Final in 13 years.  She also defeated the reigning, three time wining World Champion, Kaori Sakamoto.  Amber identifies as a member of the LGBT community, she is pansexual, and she debated about coming out for a while, as she was afraid coming out as pansexual would cause judges to give her scores lower than she deserved.

Amber also works with a sport psychologist, as she suffers with anxiety, and ADHD.

Here is Amber's gold winning skate.
