John and Ellen (TellYouWhat) selling copies of our book, "Beyond Brokeback - The Impact of a Film".
John and Ellen manned a table at the SF Rodeo, selling copies of the book. This set up was at the Castro Theater, where the movie was being played that weekend. They both confirmed they sold quite a few copies of the book that weekend.
John was very involved with the book, not only selling, but was also a featured author in it.
But there was more to John than his devotion to Brokeback and the forum.
He loved genealogy, and he was always posting his latest historical discoveries on his Facebook page.
He enjoyed stargazing with his telescope, and I can remember how much he enjoyed setting up the telescope for the Brokies to use at the Estes Park gathering. I looked through the scope to see Saturn and its rings very clearly.
He was also a talented musician, though he was rather humble about his musical talents, and enjoyed playing the piano.
Most of all, he was a very generous and sweet man, never hesitating to help someone when they asked. Though he was humble, I hope he realized how much he was loved!
