Hello all. The doors to the New Diner are now opened. The link for here is in the Old Diner, and the thread is now locked. Sorry it was a little late.

I hope to see everyone later.

Rehi y'all! back from the hospital, even though we got there early, they were able to start on him early with the wound observation, treatment and rebandaging, so we got out of there earlier than we would have had we started right on time.

Hi Linda!
Maddening hot here today, it's 10:10 and we have still 30C. Tomorrow it will stay like that or tun even hotter. Luckily I can stay home in front of Hedwig (my new fan).

Hi, Linda.  Thanks for opening our new Diner.  So beautiful, such good food, and of course, good service!   ;D

Hi, Elena.  Enjoy that fan!

Hi, Fritz.  Glad you were able to get through with the doctor appointment so quickly.

I tried to nap but really couldn't, so got up and got dressed, and am doing laundry.  Expected to go out and start working on some of the small branches on those (two, actually) large branches between me and and the disabled neighbors, but when I went out for the mail, the whole mess had been cleaned up.  Possibly by the neighbors on the other side of them....I did hear a chainsaw earlier.

So the only remnant of the tree disaster is one long branch on the grassy patch down by the street in front of my house.  It will need a chainsaw, but it's safe to stay there until the tree service comes.  I'm glad to be asking them to estimate tree trimming in general, or this might be too small of a job.

The local county newspaper had a front page picture with caption:  "A large tree fell on a fence and into the street"....in a group of homes that are right in this general neighborhood, between me and the supermarket.  So the tree crews will be busy for a while.

And I just put a link to the new Diner in the phone. It's a little more complicated than just editing the link here on the desk computer!

Hi Debbie! Good that someone helped you with the tree removing. That chainsaw... is it going to be you using it?  :o

I'm heading to bed, I am seriously thinking about exchanging M for Hedwig tonight...

Can you both use it?

A former co-worker many years ago, his wife was named Hedwig, way before the movie. I saw her many times at parties and such. So I always think of her when I hear the name.

Oh, no, not me, Elena.  I wouldn't touch it, and I don't use gasoline-powered machines in general.

I hope the tree service will cut that branch up, when they get around to doing the rest of the trimming job.

Good night, and stay cool.   :)

I also remember going inside St Hedwig Cathedral in what then was East Berlin, that was in 1966, there was still a lot of rubble from WW2 bombing on the floor.

I'm glad you got finished early, Fritz. I hope you missed the traffic.
