Hello Linda! So glad to hear your surgery is finally scheduled! ;D January 20th is my sister's birthday, so between Ingdarlin's birthday and hers, you should have no problems. I hope the insurance doesn't give you any problems--IMO they shouldn't as long as your weight is down. And it's good news that they'll be able to do the other knee soon after; you don't want to wait and risk putting too much strain on your repaired knee or on your hip. ((((Linda!!))))

Thanks so much, Jenny!! I am relieved and happy to finally have a date. I'm still going to work on the weight loss, just in case the insurance decides to cause problems! It's my son Jonathan's birthday as well!

The Ortho surgeon said that if I can prove I've lost more than 25 lbs, then there shouldn't be a problem. But he said they would take it on if they object. I'm hoping if I get down to the BMI between 35-36, that they won't. I'm at 37.2, so it's not too far out.

This is that new procedure they do 2 weeks before the surgery. It's a Cryoanalgesia treatment called the iovera treatment.

Basically is interrupts peripheral nerves in 3 different places in the knee so that you don't have pain from the incision.

I hope the healing goes well so that I can have the other knee done sooner than later.

We got some sun, as well as a few drops on the mailbox, not much.

A real mix, huh, Fritz?

Yep, but no rain to speak of. Just mostly cloudy and on the cool side, the upper 30's.

Oh, just noticing, it's in the 40's now, so it's warmed up a bit. Might get below freezing tonight, with a clear sky and the half moon visible.

Just checked the house lights, there are also Christmas trees and ornaments as well as dots and snowflakes. It looks pretty good!

But it's too dim to get a picture of it.

No flying mangers.

Sounds pretty, Fritz (even without the mangers  ).

Tomorrow there'll be a general strike in France, one of the worst that the country has experienced in more than two decades. Virtually nothing will be working.

Poor Mr S - his trains from here will only reach the border, and he's got no idea how he'll get into Strasbourg's city center and back home again. It's way too far to walk. Everything will be jammed, so even hitchhiking isn't an option.

At least tomorrow and Friday.

Hopefully, these strikes won't continue into next week.

 >:(

Very sorry to hear this, Ingy.  Best of luck to Mr S.

That's a terrible situation for Mr. S, Ingy. Send him my thoughts. I hope something can be figured out. Can you drive him?

Big girl sang yesterday in a Vicky Leandro's concert. She was horrified!  Big girl, not VL. They will probably sing again with her next week in Magdeburg. Hey, 80 Euros per concert, in December she's going to make note money than me in the shop!

Congrats to Big Girl!

I'm glad you had a good PT session today Debbie.

Thanks, Linda.  I'll do some "homework" later today, after dinner.
