Long night, but I got a load of towel and underwear laundry done and put away.  And put a lot of bottles (of different types of drinks) in the frig to cool overnight.

My throat keeps getting sore, off and on (this has been going on for almost two weeks, since the day before I asked to be discharged from PT).  I don't have any of the typical symptoms of COVID-19, so I'm not worried, but I am taking Tylenol a couple of times a day, and added another bottle to today's supermarket order.  Am feeling okay most of the time.

I'll still be up for a while, but will say good night now.  Hope we can all sleep tonight, and I'll see you tomorrow.

Night Debs!  Sleep well.

I just got an idea for the What in the World thread.   We've had this theme before, but I figured we could use some laughs now, so I'm going there now.

Phong is not rostered on to work today.

I didn't plan to go out, but Phong said he wanted to go out get something to eat, though w have a lot of food at home. We went to the market and ordered falafel wraps to take home. He went to the Sino-Viet grocery for  lemon grass and greens. I don't like the shop because although they have a great range of foods, it is horribly cramped. Then to a pharmacy because he wanted medicine for a split lip - the pharmacist told him to just keep applying lip balm. Then back to the market for him to buy a new puffer jacket. On the way home, I asked him if he needed almonds, so we went to a Lebanese supermarket.

When we got home, we had our late lunch on the patio in the sunshine.

I rang to check on my friend R who recently moved into a unit in a retirement village. He said he's okay and was about to go to the supermarket. His daughter and granddaughters haven't been able to visit him. I think the retirement village people are not allowing visitors in.

He is in the most vulnerable demographic - he is 2 or 3 years older than me and has conditions including atrial fibrillation.

His eldest granddaughter, a teenager on the autism spectrum, doesn't believe in the Covid19 threat and  keeps going out wherever she likes. R says she often gets sick with whatever virus is going around.

I also checked on our mutual friend J who is a home getting over a cold. She is able to go out to buy food and to go for a walk in parkland by the creek. She suspects R, who is an alcoholic, is drinking again.

R's recalcitrant teenage granddaughter has been living in J's house since January. J has always been her secular, informal godmother but I doubt that she takes any notice of J's sound advice.

A third man in his 70s with an underlying condition died in hospital of Covid19 in Melbourne last night.

The police report that officers doing spot-checks on people required to self-isolate at home are finding 10% not at home or having given a false address. People have been reporting a very wealthy couple who returned from a skiing event in Aspen, Colorado where they were infected, accusing them of swanning around all over Melbourne in public places.
