Welcome to TV Right Now: The Good, the Bad, and the Totally Sucky - Volume 3

What amused you, appalled you, or moved you in any way on TV recently: this minute, this hour, this week, this season?

What good show is getting even better, who is going down the damn toilet?

Who just appeared on The Daily Show and horrified you or amazed you, what show took a surprising twist, why everything on is fading, or what you just discovered that you think you might love?

This is the thread to discuss what's going in TV right now, or anything looming on the horizon, or missing from the horizon, or you're dying to see on the horizon . . .

All forum rules apply to this thread.

Welcome to Volumn 3 of TV Right Now.

I wish I could say there are shows on TV that I like and watch, but it seems I'm just TV'd out. Hopefully there are some new things coming up that will be worth watching.

This is not unusual for me as every few years I just get fed up with what's being shown. Eventually I come back, but not so far last year and this year.

I generally see a lot of stuff in reruns/repeats, but at the moment, I'm watching the new seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, and The Walking Dead.

I don't always see the latest episodes, but I also watch some of the 90 Day Fiancé, just because this show is such a train wreck.

Yes Chuck, every once in awhile I'll watch some reruns of a couple of reality shows. When I was in the rehab place there was not much of a choice of channels so got to watching "Say Yes to the Dress" on TLC. Not very good, but watched it anyway. I got to see some pretty bridal gowns and some really stupid people.

One of the amazing things was how much the bride to be was swayed by the people she brought with her regarding her choice of dress. It's her wedding and her choice, but a lot of the time she didn't go with what she liked the best. Other B to B had already tried on 50-100 dresses before they even came on the show. One if the big reasons I am not a big fan of reality shows. Just unbelievable, stupid stuff.

I know that feeling. You could say it happened to me back in the fall. I just wasn't motivated to turn on the TV even for shows I'd watched regularly for several years. Lyle knows I frequently forgot L&O: SVU was even on. I seem to have gotten back into the habit of watching some of these shows.

I was always an avid NCIS and NCIS NO fan and watched all the time, but the casts on both have changed so much that they just don't seem like the same show anymore. The dynamic is not anywhere close to what it was.

Any of the new shows I've tried just don't have what it takes to keep me hooked. And the ones that do are cancelled after one season, so it's not worth me getting invested to just get frustrated when it's cancelled.

I don't know why NCIS is no longer must-see TV for me, but it isn't. I don't blame it on the cast changes. I like Ellie, Torres is hot, and I like Maria Bello's character, too. I got tired of Tony acting like a frat boy, and I never liked Ziva--her return was probably one factor in my loss of interest. Then again, I suppose it's possible that Abby's departure is what did it for me, although I like her replacement, too. This was one of the shows where I felt the cycling of new characters in and out is what helped keep it fresh, so I really don't understand what happened to my interest.

I liked NCIS: NOLA, too, but then they moved it to a different night, and I didn't like it enough to follow it. Same deal with NCIS: LA.

For some reason I never got into NCIS LA. The storylines just never did anything for me. Too Hollywood maybe.

Did anyone see Pete guest host Jimmy Kimmel LIVE on Thursday? He was pretty good. You can find it on Kimmel's youtube page or on Hulu among other ways if you're so inclined.

I had Stand By tickets for the show, but they canceled the studio audience. Curses, foiled again! However, they didn't inform the waitlist/standby people and I went up there on Hollywood Blvd. in the pouring rain we had that day. What can ya do?

He did a sketch for the show outside on Hollywood Blvd. It must've been done on Wednesday because Tuesday was sunny and it rained all day Thursday.

I guess I'm the only one watching this crap...maybe Chuck, he watched last season.  But the posts on Twitter while the show is on is better than the show.

^^^^^^ That's exactly what it is, Nancy!!

It's hard to find anything on TV to watch. UGH! Most of the movies on Hallmark channel I've seen before. I've started to watch the Hallmark mysteries channel and some are actually pretty good.

It's something different.

I still watch sporadically.   Sometimes a train wreck is called for.  ;)
