This is not a flattering picture of her. I had to take a second look. She looks like she's not wearing any pants.

I thought the same thing, Auntie!

And I think it every week when I see her picture!

Carson and Jack are… “gamers.”

I still crave pizza from last week.

Final 5!!

46 member states… will we have to know that?

Human rights, democracy and the rule of law… sounds great!

Frankfurt and Strasburg

Those cities look so pretty.

Oooh, head to head…. That’s a weird way of putting it!

That seems pretty easy to name the 4 countries.

Oh My God, Josiah and Alyssa! DUH!

Oh dear, those married brothers are very lost!

I think Han will be good at this- remember she is a surfer.

Yes! (I like Han a lot. Leave her alone, Lyle!)

Wow! I can’t believe Carson got that.

Jonathan will be pissed!

That water looked pretty murky, eh?

The cheese thing looks hard.

There’s no way I could tell the different cheeses apart by taste.

Wow! That was once the tallest building in the world. That seems incredible.

Josiah and Alyssa should have used the express pass right away without dicking around.

I love how Holden calls Han “bro” all the time!

I don’t understand what happened when Han was getting directions.

Oooh, Jonathan is mad!

Again, Josiah and Alyssa should have used the express pass right away without dicking around.

I like the contrast between Josiah/Alyssa-nor blaming each other and Jonathan/Ana- blaming each other.

The married brothers are funny-“I have cheese in my pocket!” LOL!

Didn’t we learn something wacky about this stork’s nest thing, a long time ago? Like, did we read something about it last year? Do you remember that Lyle?

Carson and Jack were so funny with the washing ladies.

Oh, that Expedia ad! Did you get that in your area? You can scan a QR code and get vacation itinerary based on tonight’s episode. I will definitely do this!

Great! Carson and Jack first place!

People are so cringe when they are asking directions.

Fun fact: Since I watch the recording of the show and pay no attention to the time, I JUST realized that the show runs longer than 1 hour. What’s up with that? Has it always been like this? You probably mentioned it before and I forgot.

Aww… the married brothers are out. They had some tough breaks today. Too bad. I liked them a lot. Oh, he got a little emotional. sniff... me too!

Wow! That was once the tallest building in the world. That seems incredible.

I missed that!

Josiah and Alyssa should have used the express pass right away without dicking around.

Yeah, you use it or don't and move on.

I don’t understand what happened when Han was getting directions.

They just got annoyed with each other for some reason and Han didn't want to talk about it, but not sure exactly why. Stressed out perhaps.

Again, Josiah and Alyssa should have used the express pass right away without dicking around.

I like the contrast between Josiah/Alyssa-not blaming each other and Jonathan/Ana- blaming each other.

Maybe it's their jobs--Josiah and Alyssa are nurse anesthetists, so they work with others well. I don't know what J/A do. [...] Looked it up: He is a software developer, while she is a stay-at-home mom.

The married brothers are funny-“I have cheese in my pocket!” LOL!

Married brothers, LoL!

Didn’t we learn something wacky about this stork’s nest thing, a long time ago? Like, did we read something about it last year? Do you remember that Lyle?

Not bringing anything to mind... ???

Oh, that Expedia ad! Did you get that in your area? You can scan a QR code and get vacation itinerary based on tonight’s episode. I will definitely do this!

Probably, but I turn the sound off during the commercials. They're just too long nowadays.

People are so cringe when they are asking directions.

Especially when the first thing they say is, "We're in a race for a million dollars, can you help us?"

Fun fact: Since I watch the recording of the show and pay no attention to the time, I JUST realized that the show runs longer than 1 hour. What’s up with that? Has it always been like this? You probably mentioned it before and I forgot.

Remember 2-3 years ago CBS wanted to expand Survivor and Amazing Race to 90 minutes. (Mostly because they could never program the third hour on Wednesdays with anything anyone liked. It also might have had something to do with the WGA strike and they needed more programming. And Amazing Race had to go back to the one season they already filmed and re-cut it into 90 minutes. I always wanted to compare the two somehow, I wonder if the original editing hours still exist? It's not been a long time they've been 90 minutes, which is about 65 mins. without commercials.

Aww… the married brothers are out. They had some tough breaks today. Too bad. I liked them a lot. Oh, he got a little emotional. sniff... me too!

I wasn't exactly sure how they got off course; I guess it was when they got lost (directions) early on in the episode. You just never know, I guess.

Since there's not a break between the next two episodes, we have to guess who will be eliminated next and then who will WIN of the final three.

Each team's placement in each leg so far.

  1st* - 4th - 2nd - 2nd - 2nd - 1st - 6th - 4th - 4th - 1st

1st* - 3rd - 7th - 5th - 3rd - 3rd - 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 2nd

*remember in the first leg they separated the number of teams in half and ran two different legs.

2nd - 1st - 3rd - 1st - 8th - 5th - 3rd - 3rd - 1st - 3rd

5th - 11th - 9th - 6th - 5th - 2nd - 4th - 5th - 5th - 4th

I'm noticing that the top three have all gotten 1st place 3 - 2 - 3 times. And Josiah/Alyssa could have gotten 1st three times--a couple legs ago--if they'd used the Express Pass. There's often a team that's won many more legs--this season is pretty evenly matched, I'd say.

I think I'm the only one around here who has been watching Watson. It intrigued me that tonight's Season Finale had the distinct feel of a Series Finale; however, I understand it's been renewed for a second season. It will be interesting to see where they go with it for a second season.

Unhappily, I have also read that Found will not be returning for a third season.

This information came from a quick Google search.

^^^

I've been reading about these things today, Jeff, in varied articles:

The network lost Found, but its cancellation at NBC might not be the end of the story. Warner Bros. Television is reportedly seeking a new home for the procedural drama. As Variety reported Found’s cancellation on Friday, May 9, the publication cited an individual “with knowledge of the situation” who said Warner Bros. Television, which produced the show alongside Universal Television, intends to shop the show to other outlets. They are actively putting the show on the market.

Fans Raging After NBC Cancels 5 Beloved Shows in 1 Day
by Rachel Dillin -Yahoo Ent.

NBC is facing backlash from TV fans after canceling five much-loved shows, a move that’s left viewers in disbelief and frustration. From freshman hits to established fan favorites, the network has delivered a brutal blow across multiple genres, signaling a shift that left many wondering where the good TV went.

Among the casualties is Suits LA. Also on the chopping block were two strong performers: Found and The Irrational. Lopez vs. Lopez and Night Court, comedies with strong fan bases, were also axed after three seasons each. The cancellation of these beloved shows sent shockwaves across social media, with fans venting their frustrations. NBC's decision was largely driven by limited time slots and the addition of NBA basketball next season, fans aren’t happy about the cuts. The network's cancellation spree has left viewers questioning where their loyalty to TV networks stands, especially when fan-favorite series are so easily dismissed.

---

I see...they're adding NBA basketball in Prime Time???  People largely watch sports live and have to sit through the commercials whereas if they use the Peacock app where you can pay to skip the commercials, or if you don't pay extra for that there are less of them anyway, or one can DVR the shows where they can skip the commercials.

Last year CBS cancelled several shows I watched, including So Help Me Todd and CSI:Vegas (which I have to keep saying: had better ratings than it did the previous season) and now NBC's cancelled two shows I got interested in, Found and especially The Irrational. Why would I even really now bother to get interested in any new series on any network?

And, Jeff, even if Found is picked up it'll most likely be a streaming app, and you don't subscribe to any of those, do you?  NBC cancelled MANIFEST after three seasons - a mystery plotline that needed to be solved. NetFlix picked it up for 20 more episodes and then placed it on their platform in two 10 episodes seasons, a year and a half later.

All I know is that when people like a series, especially with continuing storylines, they get really p.o.'d when you take it away from them. That doesn't create loyal/regular viewers. The article I quoted above said that The Irrational and Found were strong performers. If even strong performers can't get renewed!

I'm betting Found can get picked up somewhere...but I have no hope for the fascinating, appealing and decidedly different, The Irrational.

The thing streaming has over network television is that you don't have this problem of cancelling a show in mid-stream. We know it'll be on the app each week for how many episodes they said it would be, sometimes all at once.

To quote a song lyric, Every day a little sting, in the heart and in the head.

I see that NBC renewed Brilliant Minds, though, that some of you watched.
"NBC announced the exciting renewal of the Zachary Quinto-led hospital drama."

Because there just isn't enough of those types of shows on TV...  ::)

[...]
As an article I saw says: Just as TV vampires were once inescapable, we’re now finding ourselves in something of a medical/TV doctor boom. Currently airing or streaming medical shows and not a complete list, either...

The Pitt, Doctor Odyssey, Brilliant Minds, Watson, Doc, St. Denis Medical, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, This is Going to Hurt, SkyMed, Transplant, The Good Karma Hospital, Stuck, Doctor Romantic, Doctor Pimple Popper, General Hospital, Nina, Hospital Playlist, Pulse, Berlin ER, County Rescue, Nurses, Chicago Med, New Amsterdam Tomorrow, Holby City, Grey's Anatomy, Lenox Hill, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Untold Stories of the E.R., Doctor Slump, Call the Midwife, Medical Police, Casualty, The Resident, Breathless, Virgin River, Lenox Hill, Emergency: NYC.

Thanks for all that information, Lyle.

Tell you what, I'm not given to conspiracy theories--I'm really not--but what's going on here? If a show does well when people can watch it for free, give them enough to get them hooked--and then move it to a streaming service so they have to pay if they want to continue watching it?

Too bad about The Irrational. I am glad for Brilliant Minds. (I kind of wish they'd move it off Mondays, though. I have something I should be doing Mondays, but I duck out because I don't want to miss Brilliant Minds.  ::)  )

They're going to broadcast NBA games in prime time? Seriously?

No, I don't subscribe to any streaming service. I'd have to watch it online, if that's possible.

But you know, maybe it's just the way my attitude to TV has evolved. I'll like a show, I'm sorry if it goes away, but, in the end ... it's just TV. It's a little like a casual romance. You enjoy it, but then it comes to an end, and you're sad about it, maybe even pissed off (at least for a little while), and then you move on.

I mean, I'm sure you'll miss The Amazing Race if and when it comes to an end, but will it kill you? Probably not. (At least, I hope not.) You'll move on.

I know nothing about this stuff, but it struck me as a good idea to have something available on multiple platforms. You know, there is an announcement, "Watch it now or streaming on Paramount +"?

I don't think the entertainment business has any clear idea of what they're doing right now. There are so many way to deliver programming and it keeps evolving. I mean, who used to know what podcasts were? Now I read today that the Golden Globes are going to have a Best Podcast award category.

Has anyone watched any of Caręme on Apple+?

There's occasional nudity and if men in the 1800s really looked like some of these guys do I'd wager France's population would be double what it is right now.

If you want to peep, just go to Google Photos search page and type in Caręme nudity and you'll find a few examples.

Jeff, this team is from Philadelphia; Alyssa & Josiah.

I learned today that they also grew up in the Pennsylvania county where I was raised.
