It is nice now but in mid-summer when I go to bed while light and get up while light, it gets a bit monotonous. DLS starts on Sunday 28th so it will go back to be dark in the morning again .

So you have like Swedish light, the longest days in north Germany (in Hamburg where I lived for two years) we had light from 3:30 am until 11 pm. It was completely disconcerting for us spaniards, specially because it was our student times, and leaving a bar in daylight after only a couple of drinks made us a bit confused... or maybe it was the alcohol what confused us, jury is still out on that!

Not quite that long but in mid-summer it is light from about 4.30am (I think) until nearly 10pm. I spent over a week in Sweden and Finland in late May 2008. At that time, I still lived in Sydney so was amazed at how light it was in the evening especially as it did not feel like Summer. I would not be so surprised after living in Dunedin for 10 years.

That's so bad about Jimmy. Gary in Merced is having some throat and similar problems due to smoke from the fires all around. As is my niece and her son in L.A.

It must be just horrible - and going on and on...

One of my friends posted on FB that she picked some of these things up to snack on already.

I was like:  "oh, check her out, getting a jump start on Halloween already."

Now I don't feel bad for taking my Halloween stuff out already!  LOL   I haven't put it up, it's way too soon, but I have it on my recliner, so I can put it up on 10/1.

Nice healthy vegetables!

Weíre having a week of really beautiful summer weather, low to mid 20s here but higher in other areas. Iíve had 2 sea swims this week, and will probably have another today.

We started indoor tai chi yesterday, in a hall in another village. We were only 5 including teacher, but apparently you can have up to 30 if you can keep the 2m distancing (which would be a pretty big space). Regulations were, wear a mask as you come in and put your stuff down, then you can take it off; donít touch anything, including leaning on walls (Iím going to take a picnic chair next time - I sometimes need to sit during an hour and a quarter); no bare feet, which I normally do in the summer, and my sandals were ok but felt a bit heavy.

Fingers crossed that weíll be able to continue with it. Itís a particularly good thing to do at the moment, both mentally and physically. And choir practice tonight, ditto.

One more post before I leave the forum empty...

I donít know the reason, but Iím having great difficulty getting ground decaf coffee for my filter machine. I like 2 big cups for breakfast and have half and half caffeine and decaf, unless Iím having tummy problems when I just have weak decaf. Lidl said it just wasnít being delivered.

I've been working on a new Fruit Challenge, for something called the Pineberry.  Google says it's a "white strawberry," and has the texture and feel of a strawberry, but with a flavor reminiscent of pineapple.  They look white with little reddish dots on them.

The actual challenge is to earn a certain number of stars in Daily Sudoku games over a three-week period; I played twice today (on Beginner) and earned five stars total.  May play again on Easy (the next step up from Beginner) after breakfast, but I'm usually not fast enough on Easy to earn more than one star per game.

So, Good Morning to everyone as you come in today: Fritz, Chuck, anyone else.  SYL.

Hey y'all, sunny and mild here, damp from the rain yesterday. I guess the system from Sally has passed through.

Hey Debbie!

Werd ich zum Augenblicke sagen, "Verweile doch! Du bist so schŲn..."

Hi to anyone else who's still around.

I wasn’t! But hello now! And to Fritz.

Still sunny but the wind’s really got up, so I’m not sure about my swim.
