Exactly. It's like using a pressure cooker without any kind of vent.

Yeah, and we all know how that will end!

The divisions of race and class in the US only seem to be getting deeper.

I thought about BLM too, immediately. Or remember when American sportsmen protested at the Olympics (during the Black Panther era), at the medal ceremony? This came as a shock to the entire world, although this was only symbolic.

I wasn't born when that happened, but I did read up on it when I was a pre-teen.  I remember thinking that I didn't understand what was so 'bad' about what they did.  It wasn't violent by any stretch of the imagination.

Yep. This can be a true force - being peaceful and yet so strong. Very strong.

Too bad that the other Diners may have to look back now at the last pages of the previous edition, in order to follow our highly fascinating discussion about violence, rebellion and necessity of change. I hope they'll join it!

The Australian, Peter Norman, was the third man on the dais that day. He died in 2006 and the two Black Americans came and were pallbearers at his funeral. It was very moving. There was a large mural of that incident on a wall which I could clearly see from my train as it slowly approached the terminus in Sydney. It was a strongly Aboriginal part of the city. Unfortunately urban development overtook it.

Referring to Fritz and fuel. It is risky to let your tank get too low, there is a danger that dirt from the bottom will be drawn up into the engine. My car beeps when it only has 80 km left and every time I restart it afterwards.  I get petrol ASAP then as I do not know how accurate it is.

I'm sorry to hear about Peter's passing.  I think it's wonderful that the two other men on the podium were his pallbearers.  Thanks for posting that.

I will have a croissant for breakfast this morning. I have it every 2nd Sunday after going to the markets.
