Many friends were calling today for wedding anniversary and Mr S's birthday.

I also had a nice zoom session with Sue and her husband. They are fine.

Hello Ingy!   Just finished a light, late lunch.

How are you?

I'm sure there are people who would think my system is weird, but it works for me.

I have 2 checking accounts, a savings account, and a money market.

My first checking account is where my paycheck gets deposited, and it's where all my payments come out of.  The money market is my main savings, what gets put there, stays there, unless an emergency comes up.  The savings account is for things like medical appointments or holiday / birthday spending.  The money that goes there is meant to be used when needed.   The second checking account is a 'holding account'.  After I get paid, half of the money I need for my monthly expenses (rent, utilities, cell phone, etc) goes there, so it doesn't get spent accidentally.  Then, when the second paycheck hits, I add the second needed half there, and then when it's time for bills to be paid, I move the funds to the main checking account to pay the bills.

That sounds reasonable, Chuck.

I actually have two checking accounts, at two different banks, and the Colorado one was opened after my mom died.  Now it's where my renter has been depositing the rent, in order not to have to mail it.

I just let that Colorado account build up, until it's time to pay a really large bill, like the PA Real Estate taxes which a bill will be coming for soon after July 1.  Doesn't matter that one is PA and one is CO; it's just a place to store up large amount of funds, until the big bills come in.

My second account is at a PA credit union, but they arrange things differently.  For my one main account, they give me four sub-accounts: S1 (main savings); S2, another savings that they call Holiday Club, but you can use it for anything you want; S3, yet another savings that they call Vacation Club; and S4, which is ordinary checking.

I can call on the phone and make automated transfers from one to the other, check balances, find out if checks have cleared, etc.  The various accounts let me partition my money in a similar way to what you are doing, Chuck, although it works differently.

Hi, Deb. Indeed I am...

Tomorrow evening.

That's good that he will be home with you again.

And I meant a tough time with pain, but you may have figured that out.

We are having the nicest of summer days here.

Splendid, cloudless day, warm, but not too hot. And some light, pleasant wind.

Yaay! for your nice summer day, Ingy.

It is very hot and humid here, but I did manage one chore that required being out on the front porch a lot.  I took all the remaining bags out there, that the charity will collect on Wednesday.

This way, they're not in the way in the living room.  Two women are coming over on Tuesday to meet me, ahead of some medical appointments that they will be taking me to, and now we'll have more room to sit.

Nope, I got it done on Friday, during work.  ;D

I'm not seeing mom and dad today, they have a church bbq to go to, we'll be doing lunch tomorrow.

Oh that's nice that they have a BBQ to go to!

Yes, I have the day to myself.

I also just remembered I got paid on Friday, and I haven't done my budgeting yet, moving money to the proper accounts.  This month is a 3 paycheck month.  :)

Oh that's good!!

Yes, that's why we're doing our weekly lunch tomorrow instead of today.

Works for me, more time to be at home, and getting stuff done around here.

A bit of an adventure this morning. Lyn, my next door neighbor opposite Louise, was concerned that our across the street neighbor, the father of one of the couple directly across the street from me, that he had not collected his paper as he usually does in the morning. Lyn tried calling him but no answer. We went over there and knocked and called, no response. The back door was unlocked but with a chain, so Lyn cut through the chain and we searched the house, no one there. I had messaged his son and his husband earlier, and eventually got a message back that he's in the hospital with a recurring lung problem. At least we know that he's well taken care of.

Something like this is scary! I'm glad you were able to find out where he was.

Yes I know what you mean about getting things done. I like it when the family goes away for a few days. I can get things done when I want to and not have to wait on them.

Thanks, Fritz.  Not much mystery or suspense tonight, but a lot of good historical programs.
