Rehi y'all, I left the Oktoberfest a little before 10, I just didn't feel like going till midnight like in previous years. Also, not having my usual friends there made it a bit less fun. But there was a sizeable crowd, the food was good (Schnitzel, mashed potatoes, Sauerkraut, Bratwurst, soft warm pretzels, and apple strudel), the beer was very good, though I only had two cups since I knew I'd be driving myself home rather than Rick driving). The music (German Navy and local civilian German band) was great, and there was Bavarian Schuhplattler dancing, Alphorn playing, cowbell playing, anvil playing!

Before retiring I'd sleep in my office and be ready to go early the next morning. And we'd have leftovers for lunch!

And now it IS indeed bedtime for me. Good night, Diner friends.

Goodnight Ingy and safe travels tomorrow and I hope you get everything accomplished in the next weeks.

Talking with friends who are still working there, I've found out that the morale of the place there has gone downhill, so it was a good thing that I retired when I did.

The place was never the same after we lost passenger service.

Welcome home, Fritz.  I know you missed having your old friends there, but it sounds like you had a good time anyway, with that food, music, and ah....beer.   ;D

Hi again Fritz! Thanks for the call! I always enjoy talking to you from Oktoberfest. I was wondering if you'd stay till midnight. I'm glad you had such a good time and that you got home ok. I'm sorry about the low morale at your previous work. It's sad to hear.

All the more reason why it's good that you're on the outside looking in now.

Hi, Linda.  Good to see you.   :)

I've been on my feet a lot today, so am going over to the couch to put feet up and do a little reading before bed.

Have a good evening!

Every day except for today, but I was in constant motion today with all the housework, laundry, etc.  Am still on the way back down to put a load of clothes in the dryer, because the big bath towel needed more time.  I brought the other towels up earlier and folded them, and will take the same white bag down now to carry the bath towel up in.

My real PT therapist used to say that real work, moving around, was an okay substitute for the official exercises on the sheets of paper.

But as for the real exercises, I did try out a new one late yesterday (that is, a new "old" one)....the first of the balanace exercises, the half-tandem stance, one foot partway in front of the other and hold for 30 seconds without holding on, then repeat 10 times for each foot leading.

When Maureen was here last, on Tuesday, I demonstrated all the exercises I'd started up to that point, and the half-tandem was not one of them.  So when I'm not so busy as today, it's my goal to work it into the routine.

Good, keep it up, as long as you feel able to!  It's to your benefit.
