Just from my layman's PoV and own experiences, certain cancers in the abdominal region may not be identified via pathology until weeks after the surgery.  Organs may look normal when removed but the final pathology, that can take weeks,  shows cancer in the extremely early stages. I've seen this with uterine and ovarian cancers. This may be part of the reason their family has been so generalized "abdominal surgery" b/c they may not have known until very recently when the pathology results were finalized.   Maybe at some point, they will decide, like many other public figures, to share more information.  However, I also fully understand her and her family's wishes for this to remain private.  V.

And ANOTHER Republican House member is resigning in April. That means theyll have a 1 seat majority in Congress.

I'd like to think some "high-minded" Republicans got together and thought, why don't we turn the Congress over to the Democrats by resigning one by one, though I doubt that's the case, but wouldn't it be great if it happened and the Dems could take over, pass some great stuff before the election, like the immigration bill and aid to Ukraine. I remember around 2000 when one member of Congress switched his party affiliation to Independent to do something like that, but was it for the Dems or Reps? Strange times. By the way, who runs Congress if there's an equal amount of both parties. 435 isn't divisible equally by two, but it can be a thing if resignations or the like happen.

I spent 22 years working in creating licensing tests for would-be doctors, and that's more or less what I was thinking. I realize it's not my place to speculate, but nevertheless I have been privately speculating that the abdominal surgery might have been a hysterectomy; she's had troubles with all her pregnancies (hyperemesis gravidarum if not more). Examination of tissue from that surgery could reveal undiagnosed/early stage uterine cancer. For her and all concerned I hope it was early enough that it had not metastasized.

Also if she suffered from endometriosis, the examination from that tissue removed during surgery, it could have proven cancer.

Trump will face a grueling cross-examination about his lying, defaming, and books-cooking if the DA gets his way

Laura Italiano and Jacob Shamsian Apr 19, 2024

If former President Donald Trump keeps his promise to testify at his hush-money trial, cross-examination could get ugly.

Manhattan prosecutors said Friday that they want to grill Trump about that time he lied under oath, as the judge in his civil fraud trial found in October.

Prosecutors want to roast him on the stand for violating court orders, as the same fraud trial judge also found, in repeatedly citing Trump for gag-order violations.

And they want to barbecue Trump over the way he seemingly couldn't stop defaming writer E. Jean Carroll, who he was found liable of sexually abusing and defaming in a civil trial.

Columbine school shooting victims remembered at 25th anniversary vigil

Columbine school shooting victims remembered at 25th anniversary vigil
April 20, 2024 / 1:26 PM EDT / AP

A girl who wrote to God in her diaries, a boy with learning disabilities who was just learning to like who he was and a teen who would spend every free minute fishing were among the 13 victims of the Columbine High School shooting remembered during a vigil Friday on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the shooting that was the worst the nation had seen at the time.

As small candles flickered on 13 empty chairs, short biographies of Columbine students Rachel Scott, Kyle Velasquez and Corey DePooter and the other victims were read one by one. After each, the crowd of about 150 people replied together "never forgotten" and a bell tolled.

The youngest killed in the attack that has inspired dozens of copy cat shootings was Steven Curnow, 14. The oldest was teacher Dave Sanders, 47, who shepherded students out of the cafeteria to safety and was shot as he tried to get students upstairs into classrooms.

The others killed were Cassie Bernall, Kelly Fleming, Matt Kechter, Daniel Mauser, Dan Rohrbaugh, Isaiah Shoels, John Tomlin and Lauren Townsend.

Just to give everyone a heads up. Our site provider sent out an email with the following:

This is a notification to let you know that we will be migrating your hosting account on "server11" to our new cloud platform.
Start Time: 11:00AM EDT (GMT-4) - Saturday, May 4, 2024
End Time: 7:00AM EDT (GMT-4) - Sunday, May 5, 2024
Expected Service Interruption: 5 Minutes

The forum will not be down for 18 hours, this just means that sometime during this 18 hour period there will be an interruption of 5 minutes when they get to our server to move it. In the past 5 minutes could mean less time or more time than they say. There could also be several interruptions during this time frame as well. So I'm letting everyone know about this when the forum goes down for the migration.

I'll remind you all again on Friday!
