Ack, Fritz, how incredibly sad to hear about Earl. I can't imagine what that's like. I'm just glad for all the wonderful years you had together. I doubt the pain will even lessen for a great long while, but I hope the brightness begins to show through again . . . soonISH.

Thank you, Dave, appreciate it.

It is with great sadness that I have to update this list.  Morrobay (Nancy) has just heard from Doodler's family that she has passed away

Doodler (Sherry) was very active on the forum, with over 15,000 posts here.  She was an animal lover and had a witty sense of humor.  She will be missed.

Doodler's first post on the forum.

I'm so sad to let everyone know that Sherry, doodler on the forum, passed away unexpectedly in July.  My emails weren't responded to, so I thought she might be in the hospital.  But I sent her a Christmas card and just got a note from her daughter with the news.

Sherry was a real character, and had a strong opinion about everything.  She was sharp as a tack, even in the last email I got from her.  She loved her family...her daughters, and her great-grandson Grayson.  And her dogs meant the world to her.  She raised Whoodles for many years, and always sent pictures and posted a lot here in the Pets thread.  I got Cupcake from Sherry.

Sherry, you are missed.

Bye, Felicia

Doodler's first post on the forum.

thanks for finding that first post, Chuck, I love what she wrote.  She was very in touch with feelings, although I think sometimes she kept hers to herself.

I’ve been thinking about Sherry today…we stayed in touch over the years and emailed frequently.  She loved to talk about her dogs, when she had her breeding program.  And she loved horse racing (we disagreed on that) and last year had bought a partial ownership in a 2 year old filly with bloodlines she liked.

Sherry had a generous heart, a generous spirit.  She once sent me money, unasked, to go toward one of my dogs’ heartworm treatment.  I saw a post on her blog, asking if anyone needed help, after a hurricane had gone up the east coast.  She donated money every year to someone in her dog world who needed help.

I’m sure more thoughts will come to me…

Cloris Leachman, the decorated actress of stage and screen best known for her role as the annoyingly perfect landlady Phyllis Lindstrom on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, has died. She was 94. Leachman's manager, Juliet Green, confirms to PEOPLE that the actress died Wednesday of natural causes.

Cicely Tyson, Emmy- and Tony-winning actress whose electrifying portrayals of resilient Black women — foremost in the 1974 TV movie “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman” but also as Coretta Scott King and Harriet Tubman — brought some of the first ennobling portrayals of African Americans to a vast television audience, died on Thursday afternoon. Jan. 28, 2021. She was 96.

Both actors were wonderful, I just have a special fondness for Cicely Tyson especially because of her role in Sounder, one of my all-time favorite movies.

“Captain Tom”, now Sir Tom, the ex army officer, who raised £33,000,000 for National Health charities by walking 100 times round his garden just before his 100th birthday, has died from Covid and pneumonia.
